Dope. Was also looking at an Aprilia a few years back. The Dorsoduro which I think may now be discontinued. But I ended up going with a KTM (now sold) for the interest rate lol

2018 KTM 690 Duke
Price - $10,500
Interest - 0.99%
Payment - approx $150 from what I remember

I was torn between Aprilia and KTM when looking for a new bike! I’m debating on getting a used KTM Superduke 1290r or maybe something smaller like the KTM 690 as the used prices are stabilizing. Nonetheless the new KTM Superduke 1390r or the KTM 990 Duke look great for 2024. I’m definitely going to look at the deals towards the end of 2024 in December to see finance and leasing options.

Year/Make/Model: 2022 Triumph Street Twin
Price paid : $6000
Purchase Method (Finance/Lease/Cash): Cash Paid in Full
Contract Interest Rate : N/A
Monthly Payment : N/A
Main Purchase Reasons : I always wanted a Triumph Bonneville. I purchased this from an older gentleman who paid $12k OTD in 2022 and added around $4k in upgrades. He wanted to upgrade and bought a Tiger 900. His wife was mad that he got a 3rd bike and he was willing to get rid of the Bonneville ASAP. The moment I got an alert on FB marketplace, I took off, went to look at it, haggled him down from $8k to $6k and bought it.

The superduke is insane. But i will say this…the 690 is more than enough if you ride normal and just cruise. And still plenty of low end torque. 690 is also discontinued but I think they have the 790 now that replaced it. Look into the 890 R, maybe grab a leftover 2023 if you can find one.

Now Ducati on the other hand…I always wanted a Hypermotard. Beautiful bikes all around

Thanks @Bumboola for the page!

Just got out of my 2022 Superduke 1290 Evo R, and got into this 2024 Panigale V4; and I am super glad to be back on a supersport!

While the Superduke was a hilariously fun wheelie machine; it just wasn’t my cup of tea and felt borderline unsafe since the excessive front wheel lift wouldn’t allow steering inputs coming out of the corners hot. Also, dont miss the highway wind battering on the Superduke.

@Autobahnbomber Just a word of warning, if you plan to get an exhaust go with the Aprilia.

I had a nightmare trying to get a full Akrapovic race exhaust installed on my Superduke. You need to install a race tune/flash from KTM, otherwise the bike wont turn on. And when you install the race tune, you lose the ability to use your blinkers. This is KTM’s way of preventing you from using the bike on the roads with a full exhaust. (You need a relay system to work around this)

A stock Superduke has the most pitiful sound. I’ve have heard sewing machines that sound louder and better.

I just go with a slip on and call it a day

Side note…KTM still does their 0.99% for 36 months. Might have to grab myself that 690 supermoto

.99% sounds like a great rate. I’ll have to wait nonetheless if I go the KTM route as the 990 RC R looks like unique in the market. The counter argument is that based on the software limitations with KTM aftermarket and being a 1st year bike, that going the Ducati V4r or SP2 might be a better option.

How are you liking the Ducati V4 @cjsen? I’ve been eyeing it up and getting tempted

Looks like Ducati does 1.99 for 36…but I didnt realize those 2 were $40k+ bikes  crazy

Yes +$40k bikes are getting out of hand :upside_down_face:. When I stepped up to my Aprilia Tuono V4 Factory it definitely realigned my pricing expectations from the previous bikes I bought. That’s happening again with these new special model bikes. The resale / residual on the Ducati special models are part of the draw as maintaining a stable of them can become speculative. I’m definitely going into the topic more focused on riding and enjoying them. So far I’ve made out good with the Ducati’s on privately selling them afterwards.

@Autobahnbomber its phenomenal, can’t ride anything else now. Just put on a new exhaust and it changed the bike. Was a PITA though, took 6 hours

Beautiful. Looking into the hypermotard or the diavel…any experience with them? Havent test ridden them yet but im just curious if you or anyone have any opinions

Yeah, definitely get out there and test ride the diavel. I’m still amazed especially with the new ones being such a modern monster. I want one in my garage!

The hypermotard is pure hooligan and I find myself breaking too many road laws when I ride those. Definitely fun but my license is at high risk of being taken away due to off road excursions and jumps. If you got the will power to keep it sane then it’s not leveraging the true nature of the bike.

I had a Hyperstrada, which was a Hypermotard designed for 2 people and panniers.

I loved it but the bike is so light and easy to whip around it turns you into a hooligan
