Some people feel strongly about politics, some about baseball and some about MINIVANS. Bringing the topic back on track, @r15mohd please let us know what you find if you look at any minivans, particularly the Pacifica. Reliability is always a concern with FCA but much less so on a lease when you are under warranty for the totality of the lease.
Just in case if you need some numbers.
Back in July 2015 I got my first lease 2015 Toyota Sienna XLE, with special color (blizzard pearl white). MSRP about $36,7k.
12/36 lease with zero down (first payment was about 700, includes first month, registration and dealer fees). The payment is $367.17 with tax included (8%).
Nice van, now we have 25k miles on it with 3 trips from Chicago to Florida/South Carolina. No problems at all.
This summer I have to decide to buy it out or lease another one.
This is about what I paid for a similar Msrp Odyssey in April 2015.
Just leased a Pacifica Touring L Plus with a sunroof through Honcker.
Best deal I was able to find, and they delivered it directly to my house within 24 hours.
What was the deal???
Back on topic. I think vehicles that don’t lease well but hold their value relatively well in the real world are good candidates to buy. You save on the acq fee and usually pay a lower APR as well.
Honda and Toyota are also good long term candidates because they are usually reliable and the cost to extend the new car or CPO warranty is relatively cheap. The V6/auto failure was an epic fail on Honda’s part but it is an exception to the general rule. The outgoing Ody is pretty tried and tested. It should be a good bet as a leftover 2017 purchase or CPO 2016.
And of course the Sienna is considered the most reliable minivan, per Consumer Reports and other data aggregators.
Buy either, extend the warranty and you should be good for the next 6-7 years.
Pacifica Hybrid Limited leases are $600/mo 36/10 zero drive off in SoCal. Nice car but ridiculous lease. Odyssey EXL and Sienna XLE run $510/mo 36/12.
In the market for a lease too but buying might be the way to go.
California Bay Area dealer has advert for $10K off 2017 Pacifica’s and $6K off 2018’s.
Bump: I’m bringing this back from the dead as I don’t see any good minivan leases.
I wanted to hack a minivan deal for my bro as he has a large family of 5. Yeah, 5 is considered big these days.
Was thinking of hacking a QX60 or MDX but I think minivan is more practical and my other bro already has a 3 row SUV in the Highlander.
Searching around I don’t see a lot of Sienna or Odyssey deals. Pacifica is the only van that has some reasonable #s that are being posted. Anybody ever lease hack a minivan? Am I the only one looking for a minivan deal? Haha
No point bumping a super old thread since deals/programs from then are irrelevant to current deals/programs.
