thatās a michigan thing. loaner cars (i.e. untitled service loaner/demos) qualify as NEW car sales in NY/NJā¦

Saw this article this morning and was confused as to what they were doing wrong there.
Sound like they were selling loaners as new car but that is what we all look for in Tri-State to get an extra discount. Plus in September, Chevy had a specific rebate for EV loaners only.
So were there selling same loaners like we get here but they are prohibited from doing so in MI?

Thatās exactly what it is. The news and the State are making it seem like some big conspiracy scam is going on. GM and GMF consider loaner/demo cars to be āNewā so does almost every other state. MI wants them to be marked āUsedā even though they qualify as New from the MFG and Captive bank. That is all that looks like happened according to the article

That is how all GM dealers were moving their EV inventory last few months. Converting everything into loaners to qualify for more incentives. They just did what they had to do, before EV tax credits ended.
