Mercedes vs BMW for maintenance

Hi all!

I’ve only ever leased BMWs and while I was helping a friend hack a Mercedes he mentioned that Mercedes doesn’t come with the same 3yr/36k miles maintenance. Anyone run into some major cost issue with Mercedes because of this? Or does it really normally not make an effective difference?

$700 for service does make a difference. Maybe not for everyone.

Agreed - something I honestly had not realized until we started looking into Mercedes

You can prepurchase mercedes maintenance, if you go onto their website and build out the car, the additive prepaid maintenance on the last page is the MSRP of prepaid maintenance, this will be residualized (add it to the selling price and MSRP).

This will not work for cars that have already had a service done (some higher mileage or time limit loaner or demo cars).

Nope. But in addition to that, and 6+ stalks on the steering wheel, it includes a thicc disposition fee.

One’s major issue is another’s minor inconvenience. In all seriousness, this is something you need to factor in the total cost of lease. Btw, you do not have to have it serviced in dealer and pretty much all maintenance in two/three year lease should be able to be done in an independent shop for a lot cheaper.

Not a major cost issue by any means. A typical 3yr (two service) on a S Class costs about $20/month when you residualize it, less on most other models.

Benz gear selector on the stalk is literally straight outta Chevy impala :joy:, 100k S class still has taxi driver stalk

When I leased my GLC back in 2019 I added 2 years PPM residual used which increased the monthly by $15 over 2 year lease. IMO the best deal is to get 2 year PPM in 3yr/30k lease for $12+ added monthly cost (depending on dealer selling price of PPM and residualized value).
