Mercedes Payments by Credit Card

As perhaps a way to “get the money in the door” as a mentor of mine once said about business in general. It looks like Mercedes is subsidizing the cost in order to get the money in the door quicker. The possible benefit to any LH’ers would be a) depending on if you value points enough to spend $4.95 on the transaction or b) Use a cash back credit card that offers from 1-2.625% ( is what I have seen ) and it would offset or be net positive transaction. In my glance over it I didn’t see anything leases are excluded.

I sent this to @dukez to get his take on it since he reviews all the cc offerings.

Great ! You can make your S-Class payment with your Delta Sky-Miles card.

United has a program too for Mercedes, iirc you earn extra points dukez can confirm?

I’m still waiting for my 25k miles…

I returned the car in February of this year.

I’m not sure if taxes are given points by credit card companies but let’s take a look at some quick math…assume a 2% cash back card, a $700 per month MB payment and a 36 month term with $4.95 due for each payment;

$700 x 36 = $25,200 through credit card
$25,200 @ 2% = $504 cash back
$504 - credit card fees (36x4.95)($178)= $325

$325 total net benefit

Not a huge number but def worth it if you are buying/leasing the car anyway.
