Mercedes MSD refund

I have max MSDs on my eqs lease that ends next March. If i trade in my vehicle to get a new eqs, do i lose the MSDs?

I asked the dealer and they were not sure. Mbfs said, it is only available on lease end turn in.

What does your contract say? Typically, as long as lease obligation is paid off (i.e. dealer paying full pay off as part of trade in), you would get MSDs back, but I’m not sure if MB is different in anyway.

Are you trading in or turning in early? I highly doubt you can trade it in w/o a HUGE loss.

You may need to make sure that MB does not use your MSDs to reduce the payoff of your lease. The dealer may get the benefit then.

This is what happens, at least IME with MBFS and potentially selling/trading my last lease. The payoff number already includes the MSD’s.

OP, if you’re looking at trading your car, you need to understand exactly what your payoff should be with and without the MSD’s included, and just double check that number against what the dealer is using. The payoff you see online at MBFS has the MSD’s included.

Although as noted I can’t imagine trading in an EQS would make any sense, you’re going to be way upside down.

You are right, i forgot EQS lose value like crazy. I will just turn in the lease when it is over next year.

If you trade into another eqs, there is 3 month pull ahead and $5k in loyalty that can help cover the remaining payments. Even if you are way upside down on the car it doesn’t matter. You just need to pay the rest of the payments. It really depends on how good a deal you are getting on the new eqs.

Pretty sure he doesnt qualify for loyalty with his lease ending next March.

Not only does he qualify for loyalty since MB loyalty is valid till 3/31/26 per August MBFS programs, but also

the 3 month pull ahead became 5 months for trading into an EQ

I think there’s room to make something happen if you grind it right. If you’d like me to confirm loyalty for you, feel free to PM your vin @redvictory. Happy to help!
