Stopped by for stop and wanted to do tire rotation. The guy said that the wheels are specific to their location ( front and back). That in order to do toe rotation; he will need to remove each tire and also rebalance them. Rather then just moving the wheels around in X pattern. Is this true that each wheel has a proper location? Specifically the wheels are made for back and front.
Wheels are probably staggered, so person is right.
All you have to do is to take a look at your tire sidewalls; rears will probably be larger/wider than the fronts (staggered). If you have an AMG kit or package, that’s even more likely the case.

That must be the case, but why he couldn’t rotate left - right for front and the same for rear?
Can’t do that if the tires are directional.

Are they common on GLC 300, even with AMG pack?
If they’re different sizes, then yes.
I havent gotten a tire rotation in like 7 years because of that.
Paying for tire rotation is a complete waste of money anyway
IMHO staggered setup in SUV is ridiculous. Unfortunately, they used this staggered setup in some ev (iD4, XC40)
Don’t need to pay if you get tires from costco.
