Mercedes Benz EQS Lease Superthread - 2

My month old EQS has been at the dealership for a week already - they have no idea what’s wrong with it (they also won’t give me a loaner because I didn’t lease it with them) anyone have any tips?

Tnx

You may want to specify where you are located and even disclose the dealer if comfortable. I read a lot of this happening on the East Coast (no loaners if not their sale), never had this problem in So Cal across various brands including MBZ. One thing to keep in mind is that a lot of dealers are short on loaners but they usually put you in a rental if no loaners are available.

Reach out to MBZ corporate and ask for help with all three issues: your car, loaner/rental and ask for a free month when they figure out the issue. GL!

Try plugging in and see if EA recognizes the car as still under contract within first 24 mos.

And see if corporate is willing to transport your car to the original dealer (assuming you’re ok with that) for both a loaner and a second opinion.

Called MBZ - they said it’s up to the dealership.

Gonna do this. Tnx!

Hi there! First time on this forum

Just looking for some feedback on my recently signed deal for some peace of mind. Didn’t go in doing any research and was our first stop in looking for new car, but 8 hours later came out with a 2024 EQS 450+ and spent all weekend wondering and second guessing myself - haven’t even driven it yet 2 days later!

Texas
36 months, 15K miles
$7500 down, $869 a month

Thanks!!!

Atrocious. A broker/research on your own could have saved you around 10k

I tried looking around and plugged in a lot of numbers to lease calculators with location settings on. I guess I did it totally wrong? Not sure where I went wrong then

Plugged in monthly fee, down payment, term, and mileage.

Looking on edmunds or other “lease calculator” sites and it says it was a good price? Says the MF I got was .00136 = 3.26%APR

If I totally screwed up, now wondering about the additional warranties I bought.

3rd maintenance (30K)
Tire and Wheel
Vehicle protection & key
Windshield protection

I think maybe I can cancel these within 30 days?

I misread and didn’t see that you opted for 15,000 miles per year. That’s and the warranty packages play a role. The deal is not as bad as I originally thought.

thanks for your reply - really appreciate it.

The $869 a month is just for the 36months, 15K after the $7500 down. This price does not include the warranties - I guess maybe that makes it atrocious again? But I don’t understand given every calculator I can find when I plug these numbers in for my zip say it’s a good deal. MF was .00136 which seems pretty good.

But even if so, the lease is a done deal and I sorta learned. Trying to see if I can cancel my warranties / extra coverages. They add on almost $200 a month. I read somewhere I could cancel with finance within 30 days.

Your car comes with 4 years / 50,000 miles of comprehensive warranty coverage.

Without even knowing what types of coverages you bought, I will posit that you don’t need any of it.

Cancel everything possible except what you can show using math and logic how many of which types of incidents would need to occur and be 100% covered just to break even.

I leased a new EQS SUV on Sunday. Today I noticed the car vibrates when I go above 60mph. What is my best option? Just let them repair it? Can I ask them to give me another similar car?

Edit, I suspect it might be a minor issue like a wheel is out of balance or not aligned. But it might as well be a motor issue as this is a 4Matic.

They need to ‘repair it’ first, after 30 days , then you can start looking into Lemon law (Hopefully not in AZ)

They do NOT have to take the car back just because it ‘vibrates’

It is in CA. Thanks for the info. I will take it back to the dealership tomorrow. Fingers crossed this is just a wheel issue.

So I’ve been using the lvl 2 autopilot on my EQS suv 2024 and scariest thing now is breaking, does any one know why no matter the follow distance and merc will brake like 1 feet away from the front car when traffic comes to a stop. I don’t trust the car and manually brake 99.99% of the time specially in dfw traffic when speed goes from double digit to single digit.

Max is 150? Mine went higher.

I don’t know about Merc, but both Nissan and Mazda have 3 settings for Follow me which is roughly car lengths (depends on speed), so I can set it 1 , 2 or 3 car lengths for it to slow down.

Merc has 4 different distance setting but while driving speed is active it does keep nice distance but when front car brakes hard it gets like 1 feet before fully braking and it’s scary when it’s doing it with 110k+ car.

Trying to see if I need to change options or that normal.

This is how close it gets using maximum of 4 car distance before it brakes and it’s scary, today I trusted it and just let it do it’s own thing and drove like 20miles not touching it, but it’s still scary. I’m guessing who ever coded it at Mercedes HQ was a speed freak.

Need some input on a lease deal I am working… is it a good deal?
