That’s normal for all leases. Nobody will give you a hard time for turning the vehicle in more desirable than when they sold it to you
What about tires? And BTW did you get an i7?
No issues on tires either. emphasis seemed to be on 2 keys, manual and mobile charger. EQS was by far the best car I ever had/leased so it was bittersweet at drop off yesterday…
As for the i7, yes I got it. Going for full tint tomorrow morning
Yea try telling that to Tesla…
Not sure what exactly to say/answer. If you went with run-of-the-mill replacements, MB may complain about non-factory and then may force you to pay full price on new factory windshield (and horrible install prices)
If the inspector didn’t notice this - it may fly .. just not sure what works the best however ..
Ideally - get it replaced with insurance at MB Dealership .. me thinks .. all you lose is insurance deductible ..
I had some bumper damage to my car right before I turned it in that was caused by a delivery truck striking the bumper while going down the street–the collision alert and cameras were great at proving the culprit–anyway, I just turned the car in since I knew the delivery company would wind up having to reimburse me and was pleasantly surprised at how little the charge was. If I’d taken the car to a repair shop, it would have cost four or five times the amount. I can’t say what they’d do for a window, but thought I’d give you my data point.
Helpful visual, thanks! BTW, those weren’t original tires at 27k, were they?
Any experience with a little curb rash? Do they charge for a whole rim or just a repair?
I had a tiny chip on the front windshield.
Quote from dealership was around $2600
3rd party was $1300.
They ordered the glass directly from Mercedes. The only thing they can do is the camera calibration.
I never got the windshield replaced because the dealer sent them the wrong one for my car.
I took a gamble and preinspection didn’t catch it. I returned the car and wasnt charged for it on the final lease paperwork from mbfs.
The only thing I’m still waiting on is the msds. Returned 1/30 and still haven’t received a check
Yes, original…
who is this for?
Anyone that can answer.
My lease-end inspector from OPENLANE mentioned that minor nicks typically aren’t an issue, but anything deeper, like a noticeable gash, will likely be flagged. He did note that it can be somewhat subjective.
He was a real car enthusiast and appreciated the cars we had, so I think having a friendly, easygoing interaction can go a long way in getting certain things overlooked or waived.
He also recommended reaching out to a mobile alloy wheel repair specialist. I’m planning to do that for the curb rash on my Tesla, so I’m already familiar with the process.
all my MBFS lease returns were very lenient on curb rash. I live in the city an exclusively street park. Never been charged for curb rash, even though each wheel had some. Not a crazy amount but definitely some.
Was it not repairable? My insurance has $0 deductible on anything repairable which includes most chips.
I don’t know if having the upgraded windshield makes a difference.
You could also do a DIY repair? I’ve done them on older cars and it makes the chip nearly disappear. Worst case scenario they still ding you for the chip but either way it’s only $10 for the DIY stuff and simple to do.
They are leasing a cpo lease turn in?
Demo I think.
Yeah they tried but it was still visible. It was like those star burst ones. so even with the resin, it was visible. probably the size of dime.
