Hey, thank you.
Did they upgrade the firmware as part of recall? Or just a regular firmware update?
I contacted the dealer and was told that my VIN is not part of the recall.

Idk, i just had the car towed there and next day they try to turn it on, it worked. But they said they gonna update a SOFTWARE. Im sorry wish had more info
At the end of the lease, you turn the car back in and don’t worry about negative equity. It is a lease, not a balloon loan.
That’s not the way leases work.
I wasn’t aware it was limited by VIN. The car is under warranty I assume so maybe you can request a software update. Worst case, I would try contacting Mercedes corporate to see if they can help if you still don’t get anywhere with your local dealer (or try another dealer).
Yes, I called MB Corporate. They just asked me to visit the dealership.
Dealership says this particular VIN not covered by recall.
As the issue is random in nature, not sure how can dealership fix this without seeing it happening.
MY25 cars are now in the configurator and the official EPA ratings have been updated to show about 370 miles now. MB must still be very conservative with those numbers, my 2023 450 Sedan already gets that range at highway speeds and the MY25 cars have the bigger battery and the front motor disconnect. One odd thing with the EPA rating is that the efficiency number seems to be down so maybe the new battery adds weight?
Is free EA still there for MY25 or is it only MB Charging network now ?
Nothing on the MB USA website about it, should be on the window sticker if there is any free charging or maybe a dealer/broker can weigh in…
This is the fastest I’ve been able to charge with the 580 SUV… (on a EA 350)
This is like a crazy dream for my 580 SUV. I’m lucky if I get half of that at highway speeds.
Found this on a 2025 EQS SUV while looking up inventory. Looks like it’s no longer unlimited…
Back of envelope math… $1000 equates to a little over 15 “fill ups” at $0.56/kwh and 118 kwh battery size. That’s assuming you’re going from 0-100% which I know is not realistic but just trying to value what $1k is worth.
“Retail customers who purchase or lease a model year 2025 EQB, EQE, EQS or G 580 are eligible for one of the following: Mercedes-Benz Home Wallbox (not including installation), or a $1,000 voucher that can be applied to the customer’s Mercedes me Charge account for public charging within the Mercedes me Charge network, valid for up to two years. Charging sessions must be initiated via Mercedes me Charge for the voucher to be applied. Selection of offer must be made at the point of vehicle delivery. Offer is non-refundable, non-transferrable, non-cancelable once a selection has been made, has no cash value, is subject to change, and may be discontinued at any time. Additional terms and conditions apply with either option. Please see your authorized Mercedes-Benz dealer for more information.”
You should hit 200-ish if your SOC is in single digits or possibly low double digits. Make sure that automatic battery preconditioning isn’t turned off.
As far as range goes: you’re comparing a 450 sedan to a 580 SUV, so you lose on both counts. Being in a colder climate doesn’t help either. And we all drive different. Doing 75-80 mph in that thing will destroy your range.
Lastly, I don’t know if @moodyhank goes by cars guesstimate or actual mileage. I know my car lies about the range and I can loose at least a third on short trips in my hilly area. I get best range that is actually close to advertised on freeway in light traffic where speeds are under 60 or even 50 mph.
This is from last summer, on my ‘23 450 SUV; this was at Clifton Commons, starting from a very low state of charge (7%). It’s the fastest I’ve gotten that I have a photo for.
I think one of the chargers by the ocean, near the Outlet, gave slightly higher, maybe 211 kW, the one time I was there with that car. With that car, I also got over 150 kW (around 170 kW) on the 150 kW rated chargers.
On the 2024 450 SUV, the most I’ve gotten on the 350 kW rated chargers is around 170 kW, starting from 20% state of charge.
When you can actually find a functional and available EA charger, the car charges pretty nicely, 10% to 80% in 30 minutes with no issues.
Yeah going by car’s estimate and I should preface when not using the heater. Consumption increases almost exponentially after 70 mph too so I usually set the cruise control at 70 or 75 at most.
Yeah, I try to stay at 72 or below when concerned about the range. But don’t trust the car, look at actual mileage between the charges. Let’s just say most of my local hillside driving kills the range.
The MB network includes charge-point and EVGo chargers; I have had to use some of the charge-point chargers when an EA charger wasn’t located where I needed to charge and have had to pay for charging on my current EQS.
I think the $1000 is toward non MB and EA chargers. The MBUSA website still lists unlimited two year charging on
https://www.mbofhenderson.com/new-incentive-bonus-on-2025-mercedes-benz-electric-vehicles/
2025 EQS450+ is rated 390 miles, 5804m at 371, 4504m at 367, AMG at 315. MB seems to have used a more conservative test for 2024 and an even more conservatove test for 2025 (2024–>2025 saw a decrease of 5-20 miles for cars with no hardware changes) so I bet if using the 2024 test, the 450+ would be closer to 410 miles and if using the 2022/2023 test, it would be 420.
It took me an embarrassingly long time, but I finally discovered how to start a charge in the MB App without requiring plug n charge. Low and behold, I click into the charging costs screen for my local EA plug and I see this.
It looks like second owner DOES get the balance of the free charging plan. Gonna test this out later today.
Can you guys charge at Superchargers? Curious to see what speeds are.
Told ya! Have you tried just plugging in at EA? It should recognize your car based on this and start charging without any input on your part.
