Mercedes Benz EQS Lease Superthread - 1

Not so sure it’s just EQS though. If you trust Consumer Reports, MBZ as a brand has been in free fall for a few years now. BMW surprisingly had been rising.

What year is your EQS and how many miles on it?

2023 2500 miles

Great, they can resell it with the original new smell to the next victim!

Congrats on your great deal. EQS is a great car, I just think for most people it’s easier to complain but not many tend to say good things when it’s good. It has its issues, but like any other evidence car

How do you manually adjust the suspension height?

For US spec EQS, option to raise the suspension is only available on the SUV, not the sedan. Also, it is just an on/off setting.

All those persuing a buyback… why? Assuming you’re paying 5xx-6xx a month, what would you find in the current market to replace it? I get it that’s it’s a way to get out of the car but 1) is it that horrible and 2) what’s your next step? Not defending the EQS… just curious.

Also, ages ago I had issues with my NC miata Bose speakers. They couldn’t fix so gave me $2k as compensation. Has anyone persued the compensation route? My NC was a purchase so not sure if that’s possible with a lease?

Because their current EQS doesn’t work.

If they were giving out S-class, CLS, or GT as a loaner, then maybe it’s better to just keep paying on the busted EQS. But most often the loaner isn’t that great and people want to move on.

I have 2 eq cars leased. The eqs suv is used for longer trips. If it breaks down locally it’s not that bad, but when it breaks down hundreds of miles from home with wife and toddler, it’s just not worth it.

Oh, did I mention how it takes 1 hour to even get to roadside assist connected for Mercedes EVs? At least if gls breaks down I can connect to roadside assist immediately.

This is something Interesting. Last time when i had to call the assist line, i was given a different number/department who exclusively handle Maybach’s and the agent on the line told me to give the line a direct call in the future. since EQ would be handled only by this department and the other departments need to always re-route to them.

I guess I missed what the problems are. I concur a working car would be needed

Yikes didn’t know these are so problematic. My rear speakers cut out randomly plus my passenger mirror stopped tilting downwards while reversing (happened to my last 2 MBs oddly enough). Guess I’m lucky…. So far.

I called the ICE number by mistake first which connected immediately, they told me to call the special EV number, which took 1 hour to connect to someone.

this is what i was given 855-502-3851

Maybe I missed it, but did they ever get back to you with what the issue was with the car ? I think you mentioned them ordering wrong part at some point, what was the part ?

I contemplated the same thing over the last 3 weeks while “hoping” my EQS could be lemoned. I’m only paying $460 per month so I definitely wondered if I could profit or find something and make it worthwhile… I was banking that if they did a buyback, I’d get all of my monthly payments plus upfront costs returned which would allow me to get into something similar.

However, the car is now fixed and I was actually happy to pick it up today. My issue was minor (software update that wouldn’t install) so I don’t really have much bad to say about it. I have another year with it so hopefully issues remain minimal.

What loaners are they getting you in while it’s in the shop? Is it another EQS? Or is it a strippo E-class? I feel like the loaner makes the difference in terms of whether you’re losing value while the EQS is being repaired.

But, I doubt anyone’s getting a collateral swap from a fire-sale EQS into a zero-sale GLS or even getting GLS as a loaner.

Yes, it’s the heater from what I was told. Also need updates to a few modules.

They told you your car got bricked because of heater issues in Southern California ? So strange.

I was just dropping off my new sedan at the dealer yesterday, getting them to fix some squeaks and rattles and install 12v related updates. Same tech did this for my SUV 10 month ago, was a 2 day job. Talked to him about all these lemons, he said that almost all the issues he sees are software related. Cars are delivered with whatever software was originally installed at the factory, dealers don’t upgrade anything before delivery. Because there is no scheduled service for 2 years, only time they get to upgrade anything is when customers bring them back with issues.

Who knows if this is true. But the fact that 2 cars purchased 10 month apart need same 12v software update corroborates it. Also, MB definitely isn’t doing anything in terms of OTA updates.

We thought we got a deal but turns out Mercedes had the last laugh because the car Isn’t Very Good lol

I’m not too sure either. They sent the error code to Germany and after 2 weeks was told it’s due to heater from what engineers in Germany told them. Said that there’s some open circuitry with heater so it needs to be replaced.

I certainly feel for the folks with cars stuck at dealer for 30+ days, that sucks.

My experience has been nothing but positive thought, 10K miles so far, not a lot. Hope the second EQS is as good as the first one.
