EVs tend to be more techy because they are targeted to early adapters who i think are more into tech. The EQS is my 5th EV.
I haven’t looked at the SUV, I only hated the sedan.
From the outside, as far as SUVs go, I like the EQS, and I have no idea how it compares to other SUVs in that price class because I don’t generally fish in the SUV end of the pond.
And I have an EV btw. I leased an e-tron GT in June, and it’s exceeded my expectations.
love the descriptive wording of the turd BTW (i.e., coiled vs uncoiled)
Makes an enormous difference on the aero test. The tapered ends and long, flowing lines are key!
GREAT to see the Swedish supporter here Whul mor do Yor mor bra! we got a 450+ eqs sedan loaner from Mb Walnut Creek ca even though we live in Vermont

Anyway back to the our Swedish connections. what are yours?
My grandfather was from Oster garden south of Stockholm he was AGREAT inventor invented the overhead sprinklers in most commercial buildings but sold the patent for nothing
Last Swedish connection I coached a Swedish tennis professional who moved to the us He was from GOTEBORG
Anyway drop a line when u get a moment Tak Rikard Carlson
S class has always been about comfort, luxury; refinement. All of which the EQS has in spades. The interior, at least for the driver is equivalent. I like the EQS style better but admittedly subjective. S class wins in rear seat comfort.
I don’t know what cars you guys are in, but most cars feel like cheap econoboxes after an EQS. Just the quality of materials in the interior, NVH, etc. I drove my friends newish 3 series and felt like I had to yell on the highway to speak compared to whispering in the EQS. It really is a different class of car.
Obviously lots of .001%'s on this thread

I drove the EQS SUV and really wanted to like it, but came away meh… as stated in many early posts, it’s a big luxo-barge and it drove like it.
Compared to the iX, the iX drives like a BMW. Can’t really describe it beyond that. Oh well, everyone has their preferences.
Maybe you need to test drive a Hyundai next… report back
Have driven most of them, Bolts, Ioniq 5, EV6… decent cars. nothing to write home about. Just my viewpoint. Like you have yours about Tesla
nothing to write home about. Just my viewpoint. Like you have yours about Tesla
I mean, the level of luxury and quality in the iX does not compare to the EQS SUV.
I completely agree that the drive in the iX is nice and sporty, definitely what I would prefer. Something you don’t get in a Mercedes or an Audi in my opinion.
When I purchased the EQS SUV I was cross-shopping it with a Q7 or something like that. It’s for my wife, who doesn’t care too much for agility. I think the EQS has more than enough acceleration and torque to haul a small family. Definitely a more comfortable car than the iX in that sense.
As for the noise level, I find it equivalent on both cars. They are both amazing.
The MSRPs on my cars are similar, but take a look at the inside and the Merc looks like it’s in another league.
Nah, when our 2023 Tesla with 400 miles on the odo twice shut off while being driven and we took it in for service, Tesla said this type of thing (EV stalling) happens all the time with Teslas. They said when you get Tesla, you’re getting a technological marvel. And just like your laptop or ipad, sometimes it freezes and shuts down unexpectedly. But that’s normal and expected to gain access to such wonderful technology. So they just reboot the car, clear the error codes, then say it’s “fixed” since it was never broken.
So they rejected our initial request for a collateral exchange or buyback. They said any other Tesla we got would be prone to the same issue, so either we accept the reality or we can look for another brand. After all, it’s our choice to put our kids into a car and have it stall since we knowingly purchased a Tesla to get the Tech. They added insult to injury by saying my request for a buyback after only 400 miles (and 30 days in the shop for another manufacturing defect) was an indication that I couldn’t afford the car and had buyer’s remorse.
Tesla sucks man. And don’t ever take your Tesla into the Dublin, CA service center. The GM there used to run some Louis Vuitton retail stores. He likens himself to Elon and refuses to ever speak with customers because he’s transcended talking to plebe idiots. I’m not the only person around here with trash experiences at that service center.
I am finalizing a deal to lease an EQS 450 4Matic. I agree that the exterior leaves a lot to be desired, but my wife loved the interior. We were about to pick up our 3rd Tesla Model S, but when we went to pick up our the demo model we had agreed to lease, we were offset by some really poor body fitment issues and were just underwhelmed by the car.
We then went to the Mercedes dealership and liked what we say. I will miss the auto-pilot, the green stoplight notifications, and the acceleration, but glad to get into something more luxurious. Our lease payment for a new car will be about $100 cheaper than the demo Tesla without any autopilot, and the insurance will be about $180 per month cheaper, so it’s a win for us.
Hopefully we won’t encounter any issues.
On another note, our proposed lease agreement is about $25/month more than the leasehackr calculator. I am in Texas, so maybe the calculator is off. The taxes are being rolled into the lease whereas the calculator has them split out. We have to pay taxes on the whole amount of the car here.
Would someone be able to review the details? We are putting 10 MSDs down
Thanks!
I had an EQS sedan as a loaner for a week and to me it’s luxurious enough inside. I didn’t like the stiff drive which carried over to the SUV. Also it’s pretty long and difficult to fit in my garage due to some cabinets I installed, which isn’t as much an issue with suv since those are shorter.
With that said if leases were still very cheap I would have been willing to deal with it haha.
At any rate the exterior grew on me but the SUVs definitely look better. I’ve always liked S classes and if/when they go electric that will be really compelling.
I have an iX and it’s nice inside and not as premium feeling as the EQS but the drive to me is better. It’s a BMW of course but I don’t think it has the typical curb appeal as a $100k BMW should, as most people are probably like “wtf is that” more than “I want one.”
I’ve had people take pictures of mine. And caught them staring as well. Lol. I was not expecting that.
But you are right, it definitely does not feel like a $100k car.
I am merely one page in, and find the repeated use of Denglisch mildly amusing, yet mostly infuriating. Why do we need “Design for Environment”, when Umweltgerechte Produktentwicklung gets the point across?

How much does the insurance cost on an EQS? I feel like even if you get a low monthly, it would still be an expensive car to insure.
Yeah, insurance in Northern California suck. Everything shot up over the last 6 months. But, the EQS450 has pretty much the same per-6 month premium than Model 3 Performance.
My State Farm Insurance (with deets so this is actually useful)
7,500 miles estimate per annum (matches the lease!)
Bodily Injury Coverage $500k accident / $250k per person
Property Damage Coverage Limit Per Accident $100,000
Medical Payments Coverage Limit $5,000
Comprehensive Coverage Deductible $1,000
Collision Coverage Deductible $1,000
Uninsured/Underinsured Motor Vehicle Coverage $500k accident / $250k person
Uninsured Motor Vehicle - Property Damage Coverage Limit Per Accident $1,000
No roadside
$923.92 per 6 months on the EQS and pretty much what it was on the Model 3.
But a BMW i4 is only $650 per 6 months with the same coverage and 7,500 per annum. Insuring a BMW i4 vs a Tesla is like banking free monies.
Oh, no. Not Grandpa’s sack again.
