Mercedes Benz EQS Lease Superthread - 1

Got moved to the landfil where they belonged. (Probably same should happen to our comments)

For those who are on the fence, car is amazing highway cruiser/family road trip machine. Took it to Hilton Head, SC from NJ and back for spring break with kids. Drove for 15 hours with charging stops and was not tired at all. Also flawless charging experience. Was getting from 170kW up to 207kw on EA chargers. Tons of space in the trunk.

So the max charging power is not 170KW as rated but 200KW+? This is nuts, our EQE350 4Matic is listed as having a 260-mile range, our real world driving is up to 350 miles, as a long time Tesla owner imagine how shocking this is.

Apparently yes.

The EQS is rated for 200kw, and that 207kw peak has been tested by quite a few reviewers. The only limitation seems to be the Electrify America chargers. When they work they’re great, but many times more than half are out of order ant many locations.

But the charging curve on the EQS is great for road trips, charging very quickly up to 90% state of charge.

You could set the cruise on the highway and just sit there and let it take curves, change lanes, all by itself. Definitely a beast on the highway. Very comfortable and as you said, tons of cargo space as well as leg room throughout. Our family of 4 are much more comfortable in the sedan compared to previous SUV’s that we’ve owned.

How is the self driving?

Not bad overall, but I think it is kind of braking pretty late. May be related to overall weird braking behavior

You can mess with the settings to determine how soon or late you want it to brake.

I did, but even on early setting it was a bit not to my personal preferences

Somebody here had asked before. EvolveNY chargers installed by NY state that are managed by EA also get free charging. Works just as seamless as regular EA chargers.

I’ve just got Delphi charger (from BMW) like new for $80 of marketplace. It is ETL and UL certified. Chinese chargers just put CE logo, meaning they self-certify it, which means nothing. Tried it and it is indeed 1% per hour

Its worse than that. Its just flat out fake. They also do this for ul, etc

??: “Nobody will notice.”

I wished I didn’t live in the Midwest, little competition here. The deal I was quoted was almost $2K, can’t help but laugh

Nice.

Also, there’re several funding opportunities available for L2 home charger installation. My charger and electrician bills were basically paid by fed tax rebate (30%), state subsidy (40%), and power company ($50/year).

Had an electrician install ours for $250 cash, and our charger was $349 on an new grizzl-e avalanche edition, which we will get a 30% rebate on.

@perdana hooked us up on the wholesale price for chargers, if you’re getting an EQS I highly suggest talking to him - he works at a licensed charger installer and were very professional!

$400 for a $399 charger + install after rebate!
