One of the reasons I got the car is that 150kW EA spot is like 3 mins from the house. I don’t even charge it at home.

I have one 5 minutes from my house, but I still charge at home. Electricity is cheap in my region (like $40 a month for my driving) and my time is worth more than dealing with the lines and outages at EA.

I agree with that. I may live 5 miles from a charger but that can very easily be 50 mins in traffic
In my case it is 3 minutes of walking. I only have NEMA 5-15 on 20amps breaker in the garage. Which is good for 10amps EVSE, but I think charging rate will be miserable

Hell of a deal especially if you were paying $200 a month on gas.
Yes, I had a 17mpg car and my mileage was fairly low, like $170 worth of 91 octane a month, but now it’s zero! Insurance went from $120 to 180 a month, but IMO this is more than fair given the car is worth 2x more.
That will be roughly 1% charge per hour. Not ideal, but could be serviceable if you drive like 30 miles or less per day.
Charging at home is just so convenient.

I drive like 7-8 miles on a business day. WFH. Thank you, I will get level 1 EVSE based on this, 1% is not bad. Absolutely ridiculous EV manufactures stopped including them, same road as Apple with their chargers.

Buy a good quality one. I think used OEM chargers (bolt, i3, leaf, etc) from ebay would be safer than AXIOQ or some other funny brands from Amazon.

Check with an electrician but I believe the rule is 80% of rating for continuous use.
I was surprised to get 168kw on a 150kw EA charger (not the 350kw ones), with a preconditioned battery. Stayed at above 160kw for the full 20 minutes I was there.
Then I got only 86kw max at another 150kw charger on a different day (without preconditioning this time around).
