Don’t bother with this “dealer”. Complete bait and switch, waste of time.
I inquired about a specific MSRP EQB at the specific monthly price listed on this forum post. I got a response but was pointed to a slightly lower MSRP model at the same monthly as the orig advertised price. I asked for another vehicle, and got shown a slightly higher MSRP to the first quote (but same MSRP, slightly lower actually, as the model I originally inquired about). Of course, the monthly on this second vehicle was higher than the original post guided to.
I then said I want to get the original deal listed, at the advertised monthly price for the specific MSRP shown. To which they said they could only do that if I closed today. Wtf? Are you seriously putting time pressure on me just for trying to get what they initially advertised? What a joke.
To top it off, all of the quotes provided was significantly higher than the EQB I ended up with, $70 per month more actually. Go to Joey instead for EQB.
Glad I didn’t go with this dishonest misleading “dealer”
I know it’s there under EQE, but MB nickel and dime you every little option, so it’s expected that all the vehicles on the lot will have different options.
And every dealer says that they can only do their offer if you close today. That’s just something they say. They don’t really mean it. You need to just ignore stuff like that. Some other good ones:
That’s the last one
There is a buyer coming in for that one. This is my favorite. One day, I’m just going to wait around all day to meet that buyer coming in to look at the exact same stock number when there are like 20 others ones just like it.
Anyways, as long as all this was over the phone or email, it’s just part of doing business.
If you are offended by this much of a dealer play, you are in for a rude awakening in the elegant world of car shopping. You gotta have a thick skin if you want a “deal” and tolerate a little bit of a play. Or buy a Tesla.
I think for MB, there are a lot of options on their cars, so selecting a different car with more options could easily change the MSRP by a couple of thousand. Regarding the “only if you come in today,” pretty much everyone does it and you just have to ignore it. Unless it’s end of the month and they’re trying to hit some bonus or in some select situations, you can just go in later and it’s fine.
Ok dealer stans. This is my 5th car from LH. Plenty of dealers are are able to provide the exact build sheets that are associated with the specific monthly listed. That is all I want. That is what the other NorCal Mercedes dealer was able to do. I don’t think that’s asking for much, plenty of dealers and Brokers on here are able to do that. After I call this out to the dealer above, they completely ghosted me. I realized the games they play but maybe others are willing to put up with it a little bit more
Not sure why you think I am a dealer stan, but they didn’t provide a build sheet. If you send them a stock number, they can provide the exact quote. Obviously, the come in today stuff is bs, but apart from that, it’s not the worst I have seen.
I’m not defending the dealer. Dealers like Cody and Rubbergash work with Toyota and VW, where they have like 10 or 20 identical cars, just different color. All the options are the same so they can reuse the same sheets for multiple requests. Even Donnie and Sam at Audi since Audi also just has P, P+, and Prestige for the most part. But when you get the MB and BMW, they will post the prices for the cheapest configuration that they have, but you can always expect to pay more because every other car will come with some other mix of options.
I actually did not bait and switch you at all, since you did not come in and you were the one who asked for the other options which I sent you.
I reviewed the previous texts we had, I did make a mistake originally and send you a 62300 build instead of the 63220 build so that was my fault and I apologize, I was doing too many things on different vehicles for different people. You did however ask for other options, (i.e. lighter interior) so I sent you two other options. Both vehicles had sold before you responded back to me so therefore I ended up sending you a 64k at the end. The cars you kept inquiring on kept selling therefore why I asked if you could finish today (the weekend) since YOU stated you and your wife would decide and sign by the weekend.
You may have purchased 5 cars off of LH but I have done countless deals on here and with my normal clientele and I speak with dozens of people a day so sometimes I do make a mistake or two. I apologize your experience left more to be desired. Glad you found a deal for yourself that suits your needs.
You want me to post the receipts? Happy to screenshot every conversation we had. You ghosted me after I just asked for the original deal. You had the MSRP down to the dollar, I matched it to the VIN on your dealer website. If you’re going to do that, put a $63,xxx or something. You did not provide that vehicle I originally asked for until attempt 3 when you pressured me to close the same day. I realize that’s semantics but how is that not shady? I’m done with saying my valid opinion here. Good luck you’re not for me
