The sales person told me this is one in a million deal that they only got 1 CLA250 available for this.
When I asked about residuals and moneyfactor he fired back with since the deal is this cheap does it really matter and try to evade the question.
After some back and forth this is all the information I got and he is saying this is the last car they got with this offer and I need to move fast.
CLA 2018 apparently really loaded because he doesn’t want to share the details of package, but just insist on MSRP this car is loaded.
MSRP: roughly 42000$
SALE PRICE: 34000-35000 (His word, Every time I ask for exact amount he insist on the monthly payment to be super low and ask me why does sale price matters when you can get the car for this price)
Money factor: 0.0002 (I know… with 0 MSD he told me the money factor is this much. He told me this after I asked If I put down max MSD would the monthly payment be even cheaper.)
Dealer Incentive: Unknown but apparently a huge amount.
Residual Value: Unknown
BEHOLD:
Monthly Payment: 220$ + tax for 36 month/10k miles
200$ + tax for 36 month/ 7500 miles
Down payment : 4000$
Acquisition fee: 1095
Rest are unknown since he insist this is the best deal on a loaded CLA 250 you can find.
No where else Can you find one with 220$/month 4000 down.
How is this deal?
Is there any trap?
He is really pushing hard on the sale for today and try to avoid talking to too much details. focusing on downpayment of 4000 and monthly of 220.
so $331+tax for 36/10 on a $42K MSRP loaner with 3,000 miles.
Looks more like a sales price of $36,000, which is less than 14% off for a loaner. Does not seem like a very good deal to me.
IF that’s the right MF. Edmunds says the MF/RV is .00055/58% for 36/10. So they may be discounting the MF and discounting the cap cost. Seems strange to me, but I’m not the expert.
This is what the calculator looks like for the base MF/RV. For the payment he’s quoting, it’s about a 16% off discount.:
Again, I don’t know if CLA loaners don’t discount like E-class loaners, but I would be expecting closer to 20%, especially now that it is August.
And honestly, the CLA250 is pretty shitty car. Don’t get fooled just because of the MB badge. A Nissan Altima is not only cheaper but nicer, IMO. Most reviewers also score an Altima higher.
I’m not saying to go get an Altima, just putting the CLA250 into perspective against a cheaper and “lower class” vehicle.
Any dealer hiding this amount of information AND pushing for a deal today, now, right this second. Is hiding something. As others have said, you can ask for the info and they dont provide it, move on. It sounds shady.
I just lease a c 300 with msrp of 44,245 in Anaheim, ca…
drive off ($988.46) for dmv fees, reg, license and 1st payment.
$342/m plus tax
10 k miles/year
this payment includes Fleet rebate because I work at BofA
and loyalty rebate because my wife has a benz in our household…
I would walk away simply for fact that they want 4000 down and the dealer is being a tool. The monthly looks low because you are putting down 4000 + acq fee. Also 7.5k miles.
