If you can, negotiate service plan as low as possible. A lower price and it being residualized might help mitigate any MB tax on some quarts of Mobil-1 (or Castrol for Volvos 
) and filters.
The lowest they would go was $40/m, really didn’t think it was worth that much…

Maybe not Midas. Go online or find people who can recommend a reputable independent mechanic.
Can you provide more info? Look on yelp ? Sorry first time would be doing for premium brand. I personally have BMW so not an issue with service before
There is no finite way to finding a reputable mechanic, and I am no expert. The guy I have known for several years now is one I found through word-of-mouth and does not do any sort of advertising. Still, he is the kind of person you can expect an honest answer from and will never try to sell you on anything you don’t need.
Be careful of Yelp and Google Reviews, and they can be written by owners/employees to get their shop to the top of these sites and/or cover bad reviews. If you know other people with imported/luxury cars, maybe talk to them and inquire at that location for yourself?
Again, I just got really lucky through word-of-mouth.

There is a BMW-specific list of indies on a website, I can’t recall the URL atm but you can google it. A lot of those indies, if not most, will service MB too
