I am in the market for an base MDX and went through Truecar.com (TC). They had a deal from a dealer for about 36K selling price and the website calculated it as $344/month with zero capital down. When I reached out to the dealer he said there were several anomalies in the deal and his quote was $450/month on the same terms. I spoke with TC and they said all prices are uploaded directly by the dealer. I feel the dealer is pulling a fast one on me and it feels like this practice is deceptive. Am I wrong? I would love some advice from the experts here. Thanks.

here is the response from the dealer when i sent him this:
“I discovered a few anomalies. The offer sent to you was from Truecar not us (please look at the URL). And I have even included a link from Acura regarding their lease special for the base MDX. I have done better for you than even the Acura’s offer and since you used a white car as example, I’m using the same car as well.
So, with zero out of pocket V.S. $3000 for the national offer, and 12000 miles V.S.10,000 for the same offer and Tax included which is not on the national offer and using the same discount as Truecar offer ($37,909.65) for 3 years your payments will be $479.84 including tax.
Residual is $24,583.50 - tier one money factor is .00042”
I’m guessing TrueCar’s calculation for the lease is not correct. Depending on which leasing program you choose, a $8981 discount isn’t even that great. Look around the forums. People have gotten even larger discounts than that, but the payments still come out to higher than TC’s quoted $350 sign and drive.

It says… “This tool should be used as an illustration. The lease terms that appear in the illustration are estimates” That’s a good one. MDX w/ MSRP of $45K (which is low) for $450/mo with $0 DAS seems right around the average for such a vehicle.
