I’ve been bouncing around from MBUSA to dealership and seem to be getting nowhere with my question. I took over lease of a 2017 C class earlier this year and it’s service B has been due for some time now. Lease is maturing return later this month so I’m looking to get the service done before I turn it in.
I went to local dealership a few months ago when maintenance notification started popping up and they told me pre-paid maintenance wasn’t transferred so I’ll have to pay for it. I walked away at the time thinking it would be a simple fix. However, I’ve been struggling to get any traction from dealership or MBUSA on getting this transferred. Has anybody had similar experience? I’m thinking of making reservation with original lessee’s name and getting the service done as last resort? Has anybody ever tried that?
Any feedback on this would be much appreciated as I’m quickly running out of time.
I don’t have one. I’ve been reaching out to the dealership to get it transferred to me but nobody appears to have a clue. Some of them asked for original lessee to call and kept redirecting me to different departments and today the lady on phone bluntly told me it’s not transferable
Interested to find out the outcome as Im in a lease transfer with allegedly one free maintenance remaining. Alternatively on my last c300 I just went and got an oil change out of pocket at an independent shop for 90 bucks for service B (skipped the brake fluid flush- dont kill me. Id def perform all my own maintenance if I purchased an off lease car for people like me) reset the warning (find instructions on youtube) and called it a day. Mercedes had never asked me for any maintenance records at turn in but I suppose ymmv if you want to be safe.
Quick update since someone was following this thread: Went to a different dealership in the area and they transferred maintenance to me. Original lessee was kind enough to come to the dealership since his ID was required. Got the maintenance done yesterday without paying a dime!
