Mazda lease return policy

Does anyone have recent experience with Mazda lease return? Are they strict and charge you for every scratch and ding or do the have a waiver built in up to $XXX?, wondering if I should take the appearance damage waiver or is it a waste of money

Depends on how much it is. Most dings are free, and big scratches run around $300 a piece.

If you think you are going to scratch the car up / go over miles (depending on W&T warranty) / need new tires, then go for it. Most people don’t and that’s why Warranty Sales are a profit center.

Leased through Chase or TFS?

My understanding is that current leases are done through Toyota financial

That they are. It wasn’t clear from your OP whether you were in a Mazda lease that was coming-due, wondering (in which case, it depends on Chase or TFS). If you haven’t leased yet, yes it would be TFS, so Toyota return anecdotes might be more useful since the earliest Mazda TFS leases were hung around this time in 2019.

I don’t know how many 24 month mazda/tfs leases are out there, but with Chase I’d wager that every single Mazda lease contract under 36 months would fit comfortably on the passenger seat of a Mazda3.

Care to elaborate a little bit?
