Mazda CX70 Lease Good/Bad Deal

Hello All!

I am looking to lease a 2025 CX-70 Turbo S Premium in the state of Massachusetts. I have a 2021 Mazda CX-5 that I am financing to trade in as well. Is this a good deal?

Ultimately I am trying to be below $600/month and not pay more than first month upfront.

FWIW — Carmax would give me $22,000 for my current car.

Thank you!!

Separate the trade from the new lease and see what others would offer.

$28,380 is the current Mazda payoff?

Why are we burying $6k+ in negative equity

I know Carmax would offer me $22,000 — thanks for the list of other places to check, I’ll run it! Will this cause the dealer to raise the price or monthly payment though as I’m sure they will want my car to make $?

Also, can you please explain the negative equity part and how that can help me? Sorry, I’ll be the first to admit that I need to become more educated in this world!

Thank you again for even taking the time to respond to me!

I owe $20,000 on my loan as of now for the CX-5 if that helps as well.

They’re shorting you at least $1100 on the trade so don’t trade it.

You should get the current lease programs for this car from by posting on Edmunds or becoming a Super Supporter here to access Rate Finder.

If you check the Marketplace here, you should find better CX-70 deals

And if you understand how Massachusetts PPT works (hopefully better than someone who only read-up on it for a family member) you are going to get murdered in property tax replacing a 2021 (IIRC that’s what - the 40% tier for next year?) with a 2025 IN DECEMBER where you will owe pro-rated for 2024, and 90% next year and the declining scale that it took you this many years to reach.

I don’t think this is a particularly good lease deal, worse trade deal, even worse MA PPT deal. Get your CX-5 detailed and keep driving it.

Basically the dealer is giving you 20900 for the car and you are making $900 off it. Would take it to Carmax and make more money

Deals on the PHEV version were much better, last I checked. With Mazda loyalty and possibly some equity (since Carmax is often a low baller), you should be able to achieve a way better outcome than this.

IDK if Mike is still brokering Mazda in New England but can’t hurt to ask. @Bostoncarconcierge
