Maserati Dealer doesn't wanna talk about Cap Cost!

Hi All,

I was really excited to see 28% off MSRP on 2018 Maserati Ghibli in Tampa.

MSRP price : 80,155
Internet Price: 57,995

But when i called the Sales manager and asked him for the lease numbers on the selling price, he straight away said he cannot lease me this car for this discounted price.
Seems that this is the price only if you wanna buy it.
He said it is $649/month 3years 10k and $5k or something down.
He doesn’t wanna talk abt Cap Cost at all. Felt kind of rude and asked him to have a good day.

Is that true at all? I mean, i have seen many people talking about getting 25%-30% off of Ghiblis MSRP.

It’s very possible that those discounts are for purchase only. They have a lot fewer lease incentives now.

Oh ok. So, is it impossible to get this to lease under $500?

Under 500? Are you good?

Yes possible if you put down $6,000+ to drive the cap cost down.

You might be able to get a base Ghibli for that, but no way you can get one of the higher trims. Look for loaners if you want to get a better deal.

Yes im looking for leasing just the Base model.

28% OFF MSRP is 100% doable on this vehicle.

Your payments should be in the 500s with just drive-offs (2-3k).

You won’t get 28% off right now…not doable. The incentives aren’t there.

Do some research, please. 28% without incentives is doable.
Maserati of Tampa like OP mentioned has it posted on their website.
Also, depending on which state/market you are in. There are a lot of factors that play into getting the huge discount off MSRP.

I have researched it. Pick up the phone.

The discount in Tampa is for purchase only. You’re not getting 28% right now…period.

The 28% off might only be for purchase and not lease as mentioned above. Incentives differ for lease and purchase

Earlier this year I reached out to Maserati of Tampa (Reeves) via their website asking for a lease quote giving them all the pertinent info (36 month/10k miles per year with just fees/first month due at signing and gave them the stock # I was interested in as well as my registration zip.) The email I received back was a one liner: “Please let me know what you are trying to accomplish with our brand”.
I emailed back and called but was quickly dismissed and told the only way I was getting a quote was to be at the dealership in person.

Good? Or God?

I never really understood people leasing maseratis and other 100k cars and trying to get a good deal

To each their own I guess.

What’s a $1300 car payment when you are already willing to do $1000

You don’t get to the point where you can afford a $100k car and not know the difference between $1300 and $1000.

But to answer your question the difference is $300 a month.

And so you are saying once you get to higher priced luxury cars you should just pay whatever the price they tell you and not look for a deal?

Read Warren Buffett’s biography. As @Rondtable points out, $100 today is worth thousands tomorrow. Plus it is human nature to want to win to get the best deal possible even if that 300 won’t break the bank.

It’s all about the deal man. Paying for a $1,300 a month car the other day now $900 and tomorrow I’m paying $600.

It’s all about the flavor of the day…

The difference is about $10,800 over the life of the lease. As stated you don’t get rich by spending money.

I guess in Colorado people just like giving their money away :man_shrugging: Want to send some to me?

vitacura - that same exact thing happened to me at Maserati of Tampa. They said I couldn’t get ANY numbers unless I came into the dealership. I asked them how they sell cars and they responded by telling me they have enough customers and clientele and didn’t need my business if I wasn’t interested in coming in. Couldn’t believe what I was hearing, I would never buy a car from them. Maybe its a reeves thing because this is the second dealer that has treated their cars like Ferrari’s or Lamborghini’s when I compare them to Mercedes and BMW.
