This is not the only forum that I’ve been on that suggests using the search tool, and/or closing threads and/or merging or redirecting to another link. If someone gets upset by the mere fact that they were asked to use the search function, because the question had been asked and answered multiple times before, maybe this isn’t the forum for them. @ursus could’ve simply closed the thread and told him to search, but he didn’t, and left it open for follow-up if needed.
As mentioned above, it’s an educational tool and not a class on spoon feeding. If someone is expecting to be handed their homework and a subsequent deal, they will not leave here happy. Not saying OP was doing that, but it has happened countless times before.
