Making Leasehacking a routine or a side gig?

I have been enjoying leasehacking and building skills. But my family and friends only have that much car demand. Is there any way to turn leasehacking from a annual hobby to a daily/weekly routine? Maybe a side gig? What would that look like?

I am also thinking about building a Leasehacking 202 page or class, since there is so much more than Leasehacking 101 and those knowledge and skill-building weren’t consolidated in one place --or at least I haven’t found them in one place– yet.

Become a broker? But see what laws and requirements there are in your state to run such service. I like to help family, friends and maybe close coworkers with deals but that is it. Now you have car brands cracking down on brokered deals too.

Step 1. make TikTok step 2. call dealers on behalf of clients step 3.??? step 4. profit

There was a whole LH thread on this guy where he helps clients negotiate deals. I don’t know if it’s the best deals but people pay him for it. He’s on TikTok and Youtube.

Wish I had the same comfort level with cameras and publicity… I like the idea of doing personalized brokering but can’t see myself getting on TikTok/YouTube anytime soon :joy:

Thanks. I looked into the process of becoming a broker in CA. It seems the challenges is not so much in getting the license but securing clientele and managing relationships (including competitions).

Of course…it is sales! You have to put yourself out there…and perform. No handouts.

Can you imagine having to talk to CDJR and Nissan dealers on a daily basis? Barf.

Haha…you have to love the business!

You can go the hobby broker route as mentioned but it is not inexpensive to operate as one on LH, so you would need to be doing it seriously to generate volume.

The alternative and better route imo is to help people in the Wanted section, or if you see deals that seem good and you go hack your own, you can offer them up in the Share Deals thread.

And friendly reminder that you are not allowed to charge for these leads / help without registering as a broker on the site

There is an unaffiliated ( I think? ) Leasehacker thread on Reddit which is frequently visited by plenty of brokers not on LH offering services. A few of the registered LH brokers occasionally pop in there from what I’ve noticed.

For those curious: r/leasehacker

Certainly plenty of people who choose not to learn the Ins and Outs, make offers, and quite a few: How’d I Do or How is my Offer posts.

Understood

Yeah this might be my most viable route now – a kind of self-guided apprenticeship for good karma?

We are never in short supply of people looking for a handout who then vanish after they secure a car. You can be as busy as you want to be in a place like this.

I assume no relationship b/c of different spelling (“Leasehackr”).

Y’all know what they about imitation and flattery.

Original one got banned for a stupid reason. I forget exactly why.
