Is the car at msrp?
No, about $2-2500 under (includes the $500 loyalty).
No (10 characters)
Pre-tax or post-tax? What is your tax rate?
What is the breakdown?
What is the sale price?
Post tax. I’m in California with the lovely 9.5% tax rate. I don’t have all the figures right now, but I think the MSRP is 90k and brought it down to 8760 with all the discounts and everything.
One thing I forgot to mention is that I’m trading in an M340i with about 1k in equity on that car.
Price wise, no!
Fun wise and enjoyment that’s for you to decide ![]()
I don’t have the final details like that. When we were negotiating, they gave me a sheet with a few figures that are not up to date.
Doc fee: $85
Tax: 264.72
Non tax fees: 1859.75
Forgetting all other factors, MSRP or under with buy-rate money factor is a “deal” on an M3.
Whether or not you should lease it is a whole other issue, but speaking strictly on what a deal is relative to this specific car, that’s it.
Also, most M340i leases ending in the Northeast at this moment have way more than 1k equity unless it’s a junk car or high mileage or both. $1k equity (might) be light.
Over two such leases (72m), you’d have made $110k+ in payments. For a car with a 87k selling price.
Let that sink in.
I am not sure what you mean by “two such leases”. What I can tell you is that you still can’t find any M3s at any dealers while some people still pay over MSRP. There are very few used cars, and they sell for almost the price of a new one. I know the price is very steep, but that’s the way the market is right now. I am just trying to figure out if the dealer is taking me for a ride or this is as good as it’s gonna get in this market.
Point is the payment isn’t going to be much more to finance it and you’ll actually own it at the end.
A couple things:
Otherwise, I agree with you.
Is this the only car you will take?
We need more info to answer this. Actual exact MSRP, how many miles per year on the lease, if you were doing MSD’s. the dealers fees, reg fees, etc. We know you have loyalty from the M340i, are they using 1k in equity from that in this deal? You need to try to built a calc.
I would heavily suggest you just try to sell your M340i to the highest bidder. Email it to a bunch of used car managers at BMW dealers when you’re actually ready to give it away, and tell them you’re looking to simply sell it immediately for the best offer.
MSRP: $90,295
10k miles, 36 months.
No MSD as far as I know.
They included the equity for the M340 in this deal. It’s 2022 with 11k miles on it. I’d have to return it by Jan of 2025. $58k MSRP. I spoke to another dealer that gave me the same figure (1k in equity).
Ah, never-mind, so the M340i isn’t a lease that is ending, they’re getting you out insanely early. This makes more sense.
You think I’m paying a heavy penalty for ending it early? I am not in a hurry to end the lease or get into this car; I’ll wait if I have to. The spec isn’t even 100% ideal, but it’s good enough to where I’d be very happy with it.
