Why not to keep Lucid discussion in Lucid thread and leave the other thread for the actual offerings?
I agree that Lucid just followed the Tesla model… higher cost, higher margin product first… then once they have volume, start producing lower cost units.
Rivian seems to be doing the same thing with their R2 platform.
Lucid finally revealed photos and details for its upcoming SUV.
Here are some of the specs:
- 440+ mile range
- Peak power at 800+ hp
- Seating for up to 7 (3 rows)
- 0 to 60 mph in under 3.5 sec
- Charging at over 300kW
- Pricing unknown (sub $80k?)
This turned out better than expected. With a starting price of just under $80k, its a great proposition for a lot of luxury electric barge buyers
I kind of dig the look of the Gravity. This is coming from a guy who drives a sedan. I’m just going to have to wait and see it in person when it is finally released next year.
$80k for the base Lucid Gravity.
it looks like a mini van ![]()
Without the useful sliding doors and, I’m guessing, the low floor.
I got a call today from my local studio to test drive the Gravity. Anyone else getting contacted by Lucid?
FWIW, I had signed up to be notified about its release/availability.
Everytime I open my Lucid App, it gives me a popup to book a demo drive. The pop up is annoying but I’ll reserve a test drive one of these days.
I am not in a rush for a test drive, since I don’t need a car now.
Demand cannot be exactly zero, the article cites supply chain issues, but also a desire to “get it right.”
This suggests to me that they’re having quality issues and are intentionally not delivering any vehicles until that’s addressed.
prob better than the G580 E TECHNOLOGIA
My wife agrees with @zaimer , says the Gravity is a minivan and looks like a Chrysler Pacifica.
