First time leasing a car and I am happy I found this place. I hope i can get a good price on an SUV I want and wanted some advice.
I have a spreadsheet going with the cars I am interested. I posted in Edmunds for the MF, residual, and incentives with the specific cars I am interested in, I will post them below. I live in SoCal as well.
This is what I want to pay, around $250 a month with close to $0 DAS. I’d be willing to pay the license and registration fees etc.
Maybe someone with experience can help lead me in a more specific place to get a deal I am looking for or tell me I am undershooting the price. Maybe someone with experience in the cars posted below can tell me if i’m in a good price range. I’ve contacted some dealers and it basically sounds like i’m slightly under priced but I don’t know for sure until I get the MF/Residuals from Edmunds.
Thank you
Car’s
Hyundai Kona - SE or SEL, FWD
Chevy Equinox - LS FWD
Chevy Trailblazer - LS FWD (cool new car that i do like)
Mazda CX-30 - Base model
Jeep Compass - Sport
Kia Seltos - Sport (maybe my personal favorite, I could be too low on price though)
My friend got a CX-5 in Socal 36/15k miles for around $300 with $0 drive offs. MSRP was around $28k. If you only need 10k miles, I would think you can get close to $250.
This was a few months ago though (pre-COVID19). Culver City was the dealership.
A search thru Shared Deals and Marketplace broker/dealer ads should quickly give you an idea what’s possible here and what’s not
BTW I know you said “SUV” but are you okay with how small and impractical some of these subcompact crossovers are relative to a Corolla- or Jetta-sized sedan?
Yeah, I just happen to enjoy driving higher cars more than a sedan. I’m not sure why. I used to own a 2012 Ford Escape (I loved that car) and i just liked driving it a lot. I know the subcompacts are smaller, but i can’t afford a Ford Escape or a Rav4.
Oh wow. I spoke to them. That’s a good deal. I can’t seem to find that right now. and I did speak to the culver city dealership they weren’t even going that low on CX-30’s. Maybe a CX-5 has better residuals.
I have a Rogue. It’s not a unicorn lease per say but at $269 a month with $400 DAS For a 36/15 lease it goes from point A to point B with Apple CarPlay, 30 MPG average, collision breaking, blind spot detection, heated from seats and has a good amount of trunk space, I can’t complain. I know the reliability long term isn’t great but for a lease does it really matter, especially if OP is on a budget?
