Looking to BUY an AWD car/suv, which brand/model has the biggest deals?

As the title states, I’m looking to buy (not lease) an AWD car or suv. At this stage of research, I’m open to virtually any brand or model.

I want understand what brands/models are being the most aggressive with deals this month (considering both % off msrp + incentives).

Basic requirements for the car:

  • AWD
  • Automatic
  • Must have Apple CarPlay
  • Prefer leather
  • looking to pay $35-43k out the door

Background on Incentives I qualify for:

  • Recent grad
  • Other cars in the house are BMW, Land Rover, Honda, and Porsche
  • I will finance through the manufacturer (and pay early) if it yields more incentives, or finance through my credit union

Well, let me dig in and find some exact models that suit you.

Hold your breath while I prepare the report.

What you’re missing is the usual biggest cost of ownership: depreciation. Find a car that holds its value better than others. Second is reliability, especially if you’re planning to hold it for a while past the warranty.

Honda, Toyota and Subaru sound like good places to start

Sounds like a prime fit for an Acura RDX. Recent redesign, great resale-reliability, and one of the best AWD systems on the market. I have seen some nice discounts on Cargurus as well in that just under $40k range. If you really want to get funky, and want the best deal possible, check out the AWD Buick Tour X. Made in Europe, and like no other Buick model. You can buy $42k loaded Essence models in the mid-high $20’s. Excellent bang for buck.

Until you go and try to sell it.

This car would be kept 8-10 years…so resale isn’t a concern

Moved to off ramp since this has nothing to do with leasing.

IMO this is way too broad of a request to generate reasonable responses on here. There are plenty of websites to do your own homework on. Very much a LMGTFY question and will take a lot of time to go brand by brand and vehicle by vehicle in your specific region. Obviously I’d start with leftover 2019’s.

The $35-43k thing is a really odd range

You can probably get a top of the line 2019 VW Atlas for around 43k OTD pending your local tax rates. SE w/Tech for 35k pretty easily.

It’s a great ride, but depreciation is going to be a huge hit. However, it has a 6 year bumper to bumper warranty, so you can ride it out for 6 years and then sell it.

Me, I am probably going to get an SE w/Tech and then look to unload it in 3 or 4 years for 18-20k while it still has a couple years warranty remaining.

VW ended that (although you might be able to find a leftover of the last MY that still has that).

I also don’t understand why would recommend such a behemoth to someone who doesn’t need it.

Because OP didn’t specify what he needs in terms of size, so anything is fine. As long as its AWD and $35-43k sticker!

Lots of leftover 2019s out there, meets all his requirements.

@chrishs2000 said it best.
