Looking for some great lease deals on EVs in TX (preferably Houston area)

Looking for some great lease deals on EVs in TX (preferably Houston, but I don’t mind driving a few hours if I can find a cracking deal).

Probably interested in Kia EV6/Hyundai Ioniq 5/Ioniq 6/Genesis GV60. I am ok to go with EV9 too if price is lower. Even though expensive for me, I can probably can look at iX too, if lease price looks unbelievable.

Found better LeaseHackr deals on Chevy Equinox and Blazer, unfortunately I did not like them after test driving them.

Please suggest:

  1. How to negotiate with the dealers to get a great lease deal; coz all TX dealers try to honor what the manufacturer lease deals are, that is the cheapest they offer. Looking for a way to pull them down to LeaseHackr deal level.

  2. Any brokers available who could negotiate with TX dealers and get me a cracking deal and I am ready to pay their commission, if they can really get me an amazing deal.

Hoping for great advices on this community. Thanks in advance.

Step 1: establish a target deal for what you should be paying

Step 2: make an unambiguous and immediately actionable offer for a specific vehicle to a dealer based on your target deal

If they say no, repeat step 2 with the next dealer. If they all say no, revisit your target deal and adjust accordingly.

Never in that process should you ever be discussing national lease offers or asking dealers for quotes.

We can help with an iX in Houston. :slightly_smiling_face:

If you’re interested in the Ioniq 6, you should check the BMW i4

So, never ask for quotes from dealers? You mean, call each of the dealers and tell them that this is what I am interested in paying and ask yes or no?

Sorry for the noob questions, right now looking at leases only and trying to get to the best possible ones.

If you’re looking to work with a broker, it would be best to avoid creating lead conflicts in your area (and surrounding) in the case they work your locale.

Deals from your post looked too expensive.

Absolutely no, I test drove it and it is extremely small. Test Model 3 and Ioniq 6 were not that small.

Strongest deals on an iX this side of the red river…

At the end of the day you get what you pay for. :man_shrugging:

It’s this simple. Shoot an email that says:

“I am interested in stock number 123456. I am willing to do $400/mo with $2000 due at signing for a 36/10 lease based on taxes for zip code 12345, contingent on tier 1 credit approval. I qualify for these incentives. If this deal works for you, I can be there within two hours to take delivery.”

Adjust numbers as appropriate based on your target deal.

Not all dealers will say yes. That’s ok.

In Texas, sales tax will generally prevent any “cracking” deal on a lease, except when salex tax credits are being offered from the lessor (e.g. BMWFS, GMF, etc.). I understand from another poster that GMF is offering sales tax credits on their EV leases but you said you didn’t want a Blazer of Equinox. You’ll have to dig around to see if any of the models you want have the credits. You could try asking the dealer, but the odds of a straight-up response is low…they’ll often bury the credits in the lease deal to pad their profit.

Without the credits, it’s going to be hard to get a killer deal as it’s a big up front cost and we don’t have any of the state EV rebate money to play with here.

What is your desired Due At Signing and monthly payment? That will help steer you in the right direction.

Due at signing, I wanted to keep it $0 to make sure that I do not loose my money in case of any total loss on the vehicle.

Monthly payment, it depends on the best deal. For EV6 GT Line, it might be slightly higher, but if I can get a cracking lease deal on Wind w/Tech Pkg, I am probably good with it.

Please let me know what you think will be the closest in Texas.

If you do not want to waste hours on hunting , look here. Otherwise, good luck. You need a lot of patience.

Still really doesn’t answer the question totally. Is your budget $500/month, $750/month, $1000/month. Reason I ask is to see if expectations of price meet reality. Not trying to be a smart a$$.

Also, if we know what your monthly payment expectations are, we can help better steer you to vehicle that meet that pricing reality.

Not any brokers in TX that I know of that deal in Hyundai/Kia. So you’re going to have to tangle with the dealers on your own. Also keep in mind the taxing structure in TX is much different than most states. We pay 6.25% sales tax on the total price of the vehicle. That taxing structure makes is near impossible to match deals you see from more tax friendly states.

$300-$500, depending on the models and trims.

Not getting much attention from any Kia/Hyundai dealers, will take it easy.

But getting lots of follow up from Chevy dealers, most probably will go with an Equinox LT for $250 or will pick the Blazer RS for $300 for 24/10.

Within the budget you just posted I don’t think you’ll get the EV9 in that price range with TX taxes. The Chevrolet is realistic with your numbers. Have you reached out to @ChevyGuy ? He’s in Houston.

Asked few dealers for Wind with Tech Pkg, but they do not like to give quotes, they just show the numbers from Kia website. Hating their strategies.

Probably leaning towards Chevy dealers now to make it easy.

Thought you didn’t like the GM BEV’s?

Yes, I did not based on the test drive; if others are not even interested in providing quotes and if I need to be behind them, I better compromise and go with others who are great at responding. Also, not looking to break my bank and pay $25k-$30k for 2 year leases.
