This is my first post on LeaseHackr, so hoping folks can provide advice on this deal. I am working through a Trade Assist with Volvo, as the 2025 XC60 I leased Sept. of 2024 has had issues, and Volvo has offered the Trade Assist program to get me into a new vehicle. I am interested in getting in a 2025.5 XC90 B6 Plus and the dealer, located in Scarborough, Maine, has put together this price sheet for me, and the monthly payment seems abnormally high. I threw the figures I had available in the LeaseHackr Calculator, and believe I was able to come up with a Money Factor of .00321 (7.7%). The MF on my XC60 is .00081. Does this seem accurate? The $18,550 on the price sheet is what Volvo would provide in Trade Assist.
Thank you, please be gentle if I left out any information that’s needed.
The deal sheet is a little confusing (and possibly misleading) as it does show the inequity being rolled into the new lease but it gives a “down payment” option of the same amount. Also, the accessories is also a wash since it is being transferred from my current lease. I’ll have to check out the two resources you provided to confirm the MF.
I don’t understand what you mean by the accessories being “transferred” or how that’s a wash.
If you Volvo is truly offering $18550 to make you whole, then you’ll want to look at the Marketplace and other deals here to see if $1100/mo for an XC90 of similar MSRP is a good deal.
I think Porsche is the only brand that has the same MF across different models, so the MF for you XC60 has no bearing on this deal (and would have no bearing on the MF on an XC60 in 02/2025 since the programs can change monthly).
The accessory/road hazard is being canceled and refunded from my current XC60, making the purchase of the new plan ($1,999) essentially a wash. I have looked at tons of deals on Signed! and the monthly payments are nowhere near what I’m being quoted, which is what lead me to post my inquiry here.
I understand the MF on my XC60 is irrelevant to the one on the new XC90, but I was surprised that it was such a huge difference. 2.00% compared to nearly 7.5% is wild to me. The XC60 has not been lemoned. Volvo is offering Trade Assist in hopes they can fix the issues I’ve had and resell the vehicle.
Yeah it is, and I am not sure if I have to go to the same dealership. Their management team has been fairly responsive with my emails asking questions, and my husband brings his Volvo there for service, so I’d like to continue working with them.
you dont. if volvo is buying the car back from you, it doesnt matter where you go. run, don’t walk, from that dealership. if you’re willing to make a drive to NJ, we can save you thousands.
These are both very eye-opening responses. I posted on the Edmunds Lease forum and was provided with a MF of .00166, which is more realistic to me. We’re fairly limited to Volvo dealers in Maine as we only have three. I hesitate to purchase out of state because of sales tax reasons.
Correct but if I purchase a vehicle outside of the state I am going to register it in, they likely won’t collect sales tax, meaning it isn’t included in the lease payment.
