List of Good vs Bad BMW CA Dealers

New Century BMW does not respect any prospective customers. I gave them some numbers similar to a few posts found on this forum for a 440GC and they laughed at my face and told me I’m better off getting that deal at a Kia or Hyundai dealership and to not waste their time. I then showed them the Leasehackr posts of people who got the deal and they said, if you can find it anywhere else, let them know because they want the deal for themselves as well. I was sooo embarrassed and upset. Not sure how they can get away with treating customers like that but I will stay away.

Wrong approach. Go with a broker. Tons in socal

Every dealer has a different business model. If you spend some time researching here, you’ll find that to be the case. It sounds like you went into the dealer - that was a mistake in the first place. Your next mistake was showing them and mentioning Leasehackr - dealers hear about the site and generally think everything here is fake news. They’re entitled to that belief. Your last mistake is taking the rejection personally - just move on. If I took it personally every time a dealer laughed at me or sent me a diatribe of an email explaining that they can’t accept my offer, I’d be driving a Kia.

Spend some time understanding the process and how different people negotiate and work your deal yourself.

Okay, sounds like this is my fault.

A dealer unwilling to cut you a great is not a “bad” dealer. They have a number they want to sell at, and that number changes based on other units sold and many other things.

The really great deals you see here are the result of a lot of negotiation between one buyer and several dealers. No one comes in and gets that right off the bat. You have to find the right dealer, and you have to work the deal. And, to be honest, you have to be a bit lucky.

So just because they won’t cut you a unicorn is no reason to think they are a bad dealer. That doesn’t mean that they don’t respect their customers and all that.

Things that make a bad dealer are dishonesty, lack of responsiveness, and that sort of thing. The numbers always change.

In my quest to search for the best deal for 640i GT, here’s my experience:

Worst:
Sterling BMW: SHENANIGANS. Beware!

  1. They said they’d match a quote. And the CA said ok but came back 2% short.
  2. I told them if they discounted $1,000 more off and I will do it. My CA said ok. But his monthly payment was about $20 more than what I was calculating.
  3. I asked for deal sheet, he said he’s not allowed. Go to point 4.
  4. Called the GSM, he showed me the deal sheet and my CA was lying about all the numbers (selling price was wrong, even though he said it many times)
  5. GSM finally got to the correct selling price (Monthly payment was finally matching with mine.) But he gave some BS story how he won’t even do the $500 BMW OL Code because he’s not the originating dealer!

Beverly Hills/Monrovia (Sonic): I contacted Monrovia and they only offered 10% off. Kept pushing for more and then they told me it was sold off. A few days later, I searched on Beverly Hills website and it was there. Contacted Beverly and they don’t even respond to e-mails. No quote or anything.

Irvine: They offered around 18% to start. Then communication stopped for a few days after I told them I wanted 28% off. During these few days, the vehicle was sold to another leasehackr which was sold for around 28.2%…

Okay:
Steve Thomas: They’re professional but they don’t give good discounts at all. Probably due to being a very small dealer.

Century West: Salesperson told me rebates can’t be used on demos. Gave a so-so deal.

Good:
Rusnak: Good discounts, professional - did not follow up though after I countered the second time…

Bob Smith: Good discounts, professional

Best/Worst:
BMW Buena Park (Autonation): I wrote some sour reviews about them before but I will change it because they gave me the deal I wanted. They are so unresponsive to e-mails so you have to call them. And they seem to have the best selection

I emailed them before when I was first starting out in my search. They were very unresponsive so I decided to skip on them. But after my experience with Sterling and I was convinced I was just going to get an Audi now, I decided to give Buena park a call. I told them I got a quote and asked if you can beat it. They said they’d try and I sent them proof. They called back saying they will match it and after talking with the GSM, I was able to do a little better. I spent about 6 hours at the dealership though. They are a bit unorganized so it gets a bit chaotic in there.

Next time I shop for a BMW, I will skip Sterling and Beverly Hills/Monrovia (Sonic). I will try out all the other dealers but I think you have to be lucky in getting the “right” salesperson.

Have had good experiences at Riverside BMW and Fresno BMW, BMW of SLO is a joke apparently theyd rather just look at the cars then sell them.

in person that’s typically the response you get, I have had a few dealers laugh in my face over email/phone but for the most part and this just might be my experience but they are very straight up with me, if they can get close they say “hey I can get to X % but that’s my bottom line,” I respect that sort of answer or “No I can’t get to that % off msrp,” is also respectable. I once heard a quote that the sweetest success comes after a bunch of failures, this certainly holds true for lease hacking."

Could I get the details of who you got your 530e from? I am looking for a great deal for dec.

You should probably look in Nov or Dec because there is no way to predict how the deals will look like then from now

I think someone should create this same post but with a different approach such as “BMW Dealers with the best/worst customer service”.

FYI… was told today at Beverly Hills BMW (Sonic dealership) that they would not honor my OL code. The “system wouldn’t allow them to enter it on top of the discounted ‘internet price’ they already gave me.”

Obviously I walked out the door lol

I agree.

New century BMW is a joke

I asked for quote. The internet sales Duffus comes up with a price that can includes incentives subtracted from msrp.

I told them they aren’t discounting the car from msrp and they point to the price minus the incentives from msrp! Lol

These clowns can’t be serious.

Christopher?

i had good experience there. yes - the quotes from there include incentives which is confusing. ask exactly what incentives are part of the quote and work the numbers backwards - you might find out that the actual discount from msrp (without incentives) is greater than 80-90% of dealerships in socal.

What are the odds that you’d find Eli Beavers at the same place?

agree on bmw mountain view, it’s the worst experience I ever had

For me, Stevens Creek BMW and Peter Pan are the worst. Would not recommend them to anyone.

Stevens Creek agreed to beat a 12% off deal but send me a quote with 8%.

Peter Pan’s sale person does not bother to send me a reply. After sending two emails, I received a handcrafted “out of office auto-reply”. LMAO.

I have been successful with BMW roseville on getting a good deal. They more focus on selling cars. I was able to get about 15% off msrp on last two car I bought from them.
