License fee refund?

I just received a check from Infiniti a month after getting my leased car and it says it’s a license fee refund. Any idea what this is? I never even paid any fees as the dealer paid them

Did you pay for the tags and return the car at the end of lease before they expired? E.g. A 30 month lease and you had 6 months left on them?

I would be very interested to know if that was the case and you were returned the pro rata share maybe?

Nope a brand new lease. I paid no tag or title fees. I didn’t trade in a car

Maybe dealer charged you incorrect amount.
