Lexus TX 500h – Possible Discount in the Next 2 Months?

Location: NorCal. I need to buy a car by mid April 2025. I placed a deposit yesterday for a 2025 Lexus TX 500h Premium with the following build:

White / Birch&Black, Technology Package, Convenience Package, Mark Levinson 21, AC Outlet

Pricing Breakdown:
Base Price: $68,660
Options: $6,580
Delivery & Processing: $1,350
Total: $76,590

Added Value Items: $1,777 (Exec Shield, Ext 360Shield) (Unable to opt-out of this)

Other Fees:
• $8,000 Sales Tax
• $880 License
• $85 Document Prep
• $30 EFF
Total OTD: $87,412

The vehicle is expected to arrive around the end of February. This is the price right from the dealer, without any negotiation. In another Lexus dealership 20 min away, they asked $5’000 markup on top of the MSRP price because of the shortage. Given that TX 500h models are in low supply, I’m wondering:

  1. Is it realistic to expect to find a discount in the next 2 months?
  2. What is the best way to check with other dealers if they can offer a better deal than this?
  3. Considering I’ve already made a deposit, would I be able to negotiate a better deal with this dealer?

Appreciate any insights from the community!

To call 20-30 Lexus dealers in CA.

Let me guess, your research consisted of listening to bag holders on reddit/facebook lexus groups who claim no discounts/above msrp only deals at Lexus and will start acting out for you to provide evidence to the contrary (every one of their posts end up being them being a paid pricing analyst of a dealership otherwise known as trust me my friend/bro syndrome)?

I know someone who recently got almost 7% off a TX 500h in the Northeast from a high volume dealer. It was a base 500h w/o options (not sure what the trim is called) and I suspect the exterior color not being in demand may have played a part in the discount as the car was on the dealers lot not in transit like yours.

Those 500s also have some issues with the transmission so there is that

Yeah but most people are not aware of the issue and dealers are certainly not letting that stop them from selling at MSRP or minimal discounts.

Ive been shopping around for a TX 500h too, and have been contacting several dealers here in the Los Angeles area. Most dealers do not have any available, and many on order have been spoken for. The best I have been offered is approx $1000 below MSRP. However, most are at MSRP, and many are trying to add a markup to certain colors. Good luck!

I’m doing much more than $1000 off in SoCal
