We love the car, needed something bigger for my family. Hate spending this much monthly but tough to avoid with current money factors. I have spent so much time on the TX in the last few weeks, feel free to reach out in so cal as there are deals to be had!
Yes. Financing would’ve cost around $14k over 3 years more than the lease. However if the 62% residual holds it would’ve been better to finance and sell after 3 years and pay off the loan.
I obviously hate paying so much for a lease but I feel OK for a loaded TX… tough to get a great deal when interest/MF’s are so high.
Only other thing to consider with this, if it’s through TFS, is MSD’s. A quick calculator shows it would save you ~$80/mo, or almost $3k over the term.
Although it would certainly be a chunk of change, a one pay would at least be worth exploring as well. If it was a base rate deal and subtract another 100 basis points.
Obviously it means you’re removing that block of money from the market or a 5+ % savings account. It’d be interesting to see the cost savings vs return - taxes, etc…
Have you considered other brands? Totally understand if you are set on a TX, but there are other 3rd row options out there that lease better, if you are open to them.
Yes we looked all over. The TX felt like the perfect fit. Grand Highlanders did not get this discount and were leasing at near the same rate.
I’ve seen some crazy XC90 deals which we looked at. The interior felt dated and its not as big as the TX. Obviously at a certain price we could get over dated interior!
We looked at the CX-90, Telluride, Palisade, GV80 3 Row, Atlas, Q7 etc… it was hard to get lower than $700/month after tax on anything. Generally wanted a loaded version of whatever we got to get all tech and drivers assistance, which we got in the TX. Would’ve liked the Wagoneer but they are ridiculously overpriced.
Can’t fault you for liking the TX. Have you looked at the QX60 or even the QX80? I have seen references to those for less than the TX you were quoted.
If you are not a supporter, sign up so you can access the calculator and see all the incentives, MF, RV etc. Then use the info from the forums to see the discounts folks are getting and you can structure a reasonable deal.
We did look at Qx60. Qx80 was deemed too big by my wife. Qx60 felt relatively small and outdated compared to TX, but I’m sure we could’ve got a steal.
HI there, looking to buy the TX premium or Luxury with Captain Seats. How are you liking the car? Likes/Dislikes. Looking at the Volvo XC-90 with Captains also and trying to decide. Volvo is cheaper. My dealer is offering $799 $2k down for 10k miles 36 months lease on the Premium TX.
Thanks!
