I am in market to get a vehicle for my daughter. Looking at Lexus RZ3500e. Sticker price is 51900. I am offered 665 monthly payments at zero percent for 72 months with 3800 down. This includes some discounts of 3500 plus no interest. Or I can take 6500 off without zero percent APR. I am concerned about EV’s depreciating a lot. For lease they are offering me 559 per month with 3500 down, 10k miles per year, 42 months. Residual value around 26900 after lease expires. I have never done lease and not even familiar with most of the lease terms. Need your input is this a good deal either to buy or lease or stay away and find a better lease. I am in Florida, but do have alternate apartment in Philly. My other three vehicles are registered in FL and would like to keep registration in FL so can keep under one insurance policy. It would be her first vehicle as she just got her driving license. Not in a rush, can wait 2-3 months. I am open to other brands / models if it is a good lease, but if financing, would consider only Lexus / Toyota for their reliability
Just came across this forum and impressed by the wealth of info. Like to seek guidance from the knowledgeable members so I can make a good financial decision.
I would not buy or lease at those numbers. It’s not a bad car, just overpriced at those levels.
Ioniqs are still decent leases.
CPO Konas and Ariyas etc are worth looking at. Toyota has no track record of EV building so the main criteria of a purchase should be warranty coverage for the duration of your ownership.
Thanks for all the great advise. Decided not to proceed with RZe purchase or lease. Might consider it in future if incentives change and lease becomes more attractive.
Not the OP, but are there a decent number of 2026 used RZ’s available? My vague memory is that the 2026 MY got some badly needed improvements in charging speed and range.
The reason for not going with earlier models is slow charging and slightly less range. In 2 years, she would be going to college and we know for sure that she won’t be in town. So I am thinking that fast charging would definitely be beneficial. One other option is Toyota BZ which has similar incentives, but limited BZ is almost 9-10k less than RZ. That new one would bring it closer to CPO RZ, newer car and would have most of the RZ features.
I believe it’s the same 150 KWH top charging speed for any year. In any case, it sounds like your bigger problem is to figure out whether you want to buy or lease in the first place if she goes away and does not need a car while in college.
Lexus have added 2500 cash either for purchase or lease to the existing incentives. With this, 51k Premium RZ350e with some packages comes to 560 lease per month, zero down, 10000 per tear with first month off.
Is it good,or need to wait further or look elsewhere Thanks
The lease MF on both the RZ and bZ are .00001. Even if you plan on keeping this long-term, I’d lease first and then see if it makes any sense to buy it out at the residual.
As for the deal you just shared @sfaud2001, what is the dealer discount % off MSRP, before incentives? What’s the doc fee?
I have little doubt that, in terms of NVH, interior materials, treatment at the service station, etc., it’s probably worth a little more than is a Kona….
Dealer don’t charge any document fee. Currently he is offering 3 percent as dealer discount which js nothing, so I am asking to make it better. I am not in rush so would see what he comes up with
Then a better choice may be an Ioniq which genuinely charges way faster.
IDK how much changed for 2026 but the 2025 doesn’t have on-board charger routing with pre-conditioning.
At a 120kw fast charger it starts at 20kw and gets up to maybe 50 in the winter.
After ~9 months or so I stand by my initial assessment: at sub $250 it is the best equipped, best appointed, best assembled daily at that price point, but that’s all it is. It cannot do roadtrips to save its life.
Where are we getting sub $250 price? Current lease pricing I am seeing is 388 with 4000 down. That comes to around 550 per month with zero down which brings it few dollars of RZ lease
