Been doing my homework and know that the broker experience is the way to go, you avoid the the dealership headaches. But been wondering, how does a Lexus Plus dealership process compare? I know that this Plus Dealership model seems like a straight up, no bs, one point of contact from start to finish process but also understand there is zero negotiation. Has anyone gone this route before? Want to understand whether it’s all smoke/mirrors or really as easy as it seems.
We are looking to finance as our mileage situation doesn’t work in a lease (single vehicle in household + kids school etc. just eats up the miles).
Hey Matt, we were in the area and wanted to see the models in person. This is what they presented and just curious on the experience others may have had.
Remember, test driving a vehicle doesnt mean you have to talk numbers. Going into the number discussion without knowing where you should be already just labels you an easy mark to them.
But still, after coming back and comparing this to broker offers that also avoid the annoying dealership back and forth, why would you even entertain this?
Again, never entertained anything. Have a lease that is coming to an end in a few months and went in person to test drive and see a vehicle. The intention of my post was not to compare numbers (only posted that after you asked), just to see what others thought of this new plus process they mentioned. And as always, truly appreciate your feedback and push back, makes us all more informed going into any deal.
Perhaps a better way of asking the question is what value do you think the process could offer that would justify thousands of extra dollars out of your pocket?
What above and beyond a broker deal could you hope for?
Lexus Plus sounds like marketing BS. It’s no different than a regular dealer. I would think if Lexus came up with this, they would have some parameters that would need to be met.
The real deal with Lexus Plus was to offer a Tesla like experience but with dealerships on board. The end product however was a bunch of compromises.
Pricing is going to be higher then non lexus dealers, but you get a single point person. Its a flawed program, but seems to work when you have one dealer group controlling a set area, customers who care about the experience over anything, and customers who are uninformed/have more money then sense.
You definitely are on to something as the ones offering these types of services (Plus/Monogram) etc. are generally in $$ areas and likely target that demographic.
