I have to return my 2022 Lexus RX350 FWD and one of my tires is Michelin and all other three are Bridgestone. All the tires are the same except the brand. Scheduled autovin inspection in next few days. I checked few posts talked about Lexus return. Some said Lexus financial won’t charge for mismatched tires and some said autovin will charge for mismatched tires. I can’t find any useful information from lease end guide since it didn’t mention this case.
Did you get charged for mismatched tires when you did inspection and returned the car?
Do you have any suggestion to avoid this? I saw some hackrs mention can buy identical used tires from ebay etc. Thank you for your time reading this.
I am not sure yet. I called the local carmax store and asked if they can buy my leased car without buy out. And talked about different scenarios like value greater than residual, equal to residual and smaller than residual. And they said to schedule an appraisal appointment. I thought we need to bring the car to the store even you get a quote from online.
I quoted once on Oct 9th. It is 4k above residual value at that time. Do we consider tax, fee here? I didn’t know that I can sell direct to carmax without buy out. I thought i need to payoff the residual + tax + fee to get title and then sell it to Carmax.
Update. Thank you for hackrs info.
Carmax is the lowest offer. If you have some time please quote driveway.com as 226ra mentioned. You can make few thousand to sell to it rather return to dealer or lease a new one as equity.
