Leasing from out of state - tags from own vehicle

,

Hi all,

I have a question regarding leasing from out of state, and tags. I found a great deal on a C class from out of state (I live in FL), and have set it up with them to ship me the vehicle. They are providing a temporary tag, that will be good for 30 days. The dealer told me that they would be applying for new a tag once I get the car.

I just sold my current ride to Vroom. It had a lien on it, and Vroom will be paying that off, and sending the rest of the equity to me as a check.

My question is whether I can use my own tag that I had on my car, and use it on my lease. If so, how would that work? I paid extra to get vanity plates which I really don’t want to junk because I took on a lease.

In the past, I have sold my car to the dealer from whom I was leasing/buying, and they handled the registration, and tag transfer etc. I was always able to keep my vanity plate.

Any help would be appreciated.

Anyone?

Anyway I plan to call my DMV and get all info tomorrow. Will update once I know.
