Leasing for the length of a job contract?

Has anyone leased a car for a job that has a fixed length? Is it a good idea? I have a solid job lined up in KCMO for 20 months, so I’m considering leasing an SUV for 24/12k. I would LOVE to find a deal that would allow me to do this at under $300/month. The trade in value of my car that I own and have no payments on is only 1-3k (I feel like that value explains why I’m looking for a new car, for anyone wondering). Does this make sense? Is this realistic? I’ve also looked into certified pre-owned leases because it would give me the freedom of not being tied down in case I get either no job after this one or a much higher paying job, but it would also allow me to have the option to purchase a car that I presumably like at a decent rate, and then I’m not out the money I spent on the lease. I am a first time car purchaser in general so any advice is appreciated! I’m also looking for a situation that allows me to not have to worry or pay much for maintentance.

Here’s one idea

Hardly any good leases exist for entry level gas cars. Either new or CPO.

In the absence of such you’re better off saving the payments and higher insurance premiums. Either keep your current car running or invest in a better used car purchase.

Did they bring it back?

Waste of money unless you are getting a Porsche or something.

Under $300 Effective ($0 Down) is not possible except for an EV.

If you want just a fixed payment and low effective that’s tough for 300. You can also do swap a lease possibly or put a car up here at 20 months. An elantra SEL lease is above your target but seems to be the best bang for your buck overall given the Mpg and safety.
