Leasing company vs dealer

I’ve started looking at leasing the Acura MDX with technology package. Local dealer was only discounting about 300 off msrp which brought monthly payment for 36 months to about $650 which seemed high.

I see a lot of leasing companies advertise online which rates in the mid 400s to low 500s for the same car but not sure but not sure if they are trustworthy or if there is a catch to dealing with these companies.

Anyone have any insight into these leasing companies?

They are just a middleman. You still sign paperwork with the dealer/finance company. If they can get you a better deal than what you can negotiate yourself, go for it.

You can see if they have a Yelp page for reference. Generally you will be paying some sort of fee to the broker, which can vary widely but if I had to guess $500 is typical. You are paying for convenience and experience. If you don’t think you are good at negotiating or don’t want to put in the time to contact multiple dealers and go back and forth with them, leasing brokers can probably save you time and money. Of course, that’s assuming they’re not shady.

So theoretically I should be able to get same deals they are getting. Dealer I went to shamed me out of dealership when I suggested getting an mdx anywhere near $500 per month and told me to look at other manufacturers.

Our last car was a BMW X3 and got great pricing leasing a loaner with msds but finding it harder to find a good deal on mdx. Anyone have a particular Acura dealer in ny nj or Ct they liked working with?

I don’t know if true or not, but I’ve heard before that Japanese brands don’t get as good lease incentives vs Euro/American brands. So similar MSRP cars, the Japanese car will be more expensive to lease.

Don’t get discouraged by shady sales tactics. Tell him to go sh.t in a hat and start emailing other dealership.

I don’t believe leasing a Japanese is worse since you can get good discounts on toyotas Honda’s Acuras etc… Just have to find the right place and at the right time.

There are tons of car brokers in Southern CA… and all of them have really nice advertised deals… but ive ALWAYS gotten better deals negotiating myself. You just gotta know to deal with the internet sales/fleet department. Dont walk into the sales floor of the stealership.

FYI, 99% of car brokers dont charge you a fee, they get their commission from the selling dealer. Stay away from anyone charging you a fee.

Haha, this is hilarious. Don’t take it personally, it is just a tactic.

If you looking in tristate area try carvoy.com. not affiliated with them but when i was looking for a car they were upfront with everything.

Honcker was way better than carvoy! Carvoy had outdated deals, and their advertisement s were not accurate!
