Leasing a Tesla Model 3, is it a bad idea?

I have searched through the forums but its hard to identify how Tesla’s are in terms of leasing. I was able to get the numbers from a sales representative at Tesla for the Long Range Model 3, AWD. The total cost to lease comes to around $21,569.75, with the downpayment (required) and the monthly payments.

The other option, I’m considering is to buy the Long Range Model 3 RWD, which comes to $34,990 (after the tax credit), prior to any fees.

What is the overall feedback on leasing a Tesla from the community?

Based on those two choices I’d buy the RWD.

As of April when I sold a 2021 RWD SR+ there was a ton of demand for a sub $25k Tesla still under warranty. I’ve sold all my cars privately except during the Great Shortage Era, and I’ve never had that many people clamoring to pay KBB private values or 2-3k above carmaxvana trade values.

thanks for your information! I was also leaning towards buying the RWD LR, since there is no buy out option.
