Hello,
I’ve been looking at luxurey SUV’s for a month or two and have settled on the Lyriq, due to the combination of incentives and beauty, I just hope I’m able to get it done.
The first time I leased a car was in 1998, before the internet was as helpful as it is now. Back then I faxed (lol) an offer letter to all the Saab dealers in a 100 mile radius with the information I had gathered through online Saab clubs (Leasehackr before Leashackr) and the early car buying sites. Based on my research I dtermined I could get the Saab 9-3 for about $295 a month. A dealer in Bergenfield NJ, about 100 miles from me, said they would do it. I gave a deposit over the phone and picked it up that night in a blizzard. Easiest deal I have ever done.
I am going to try the same thing now, only with the internet instead of fax. My question is: is this still a viable approach? Or, are dealers so tired of the online buying community they just ignore these inquiries. Should I address it to their internet department or is their a more efficient way? Any tips on the language I should use in the offer? Should I include the Leasehackr calculator numbers? Should I direct the offer at a specific vehicle or just give them the incentives I’m aware of and ask them if there is a Lyriq that I can get with these numbers? I’m not picky about color or trim, as long it is one with a high residual.
Anyone have experience with this, and how did it turnout? And finally, is there percentage off the MSRP I should offer with my initial offer, not including any incentives, just the price of the car if I was buying with cash?
I apologize if this is longwinded, I’m trying to consolidate all my questions in one post.
Thank you Thank you Thank you for any help.
Jack
Yes. Obviously most will ignore or reject your offer. But that’s par for the course. You just need one to say yes.
I’ve had the best luck if I specifically mention a stock number. I go on the dealer website, find the car that fits what im looking for and then use the contact options to send off an offer that’s specific to that car.
I’m new at this and have been sending emails like you mentioned. Do you compile the email with the rebates you qualify for and ask for a % below MSRP to meet your monthly target?
You need to be completely unambiguous in your offer.
That means listing off the incentives you qualify, what your tax rate is, etc. For pricing, either give a monthly and due at signing amount or break out every detail.
Hi sales manager at a volvo store here!
If you want the best deal, make it easy for me to say yes!
Pick out the stock number, include the rebates you qualify for, have a due at signing and monthly payment. ALSO SAY YOU WILL TAKE DELIVERY THE NEXT DAY.
Throw in that you will write a google reivew and give a 10/10 survey score. Make it easy for me to say yes
Great advice, thank you! That is exactly what I did the first time I did this, except there were no Google reviews back then. Told whoever ok’d the deal I would give a deposit over the phone immediately and pick up the car that night.
Now, I’m sure sales is inundated with these inquiries, and 99% never come to the dealership. Is there any wording or action I could take to prove to the salesperson that I am serious? My other issue is I feel terrible if I send this email to several dealers and more then one says yes. I would have to tell that person I recieved a deal before his and took it. Theyll probably think I was playing them. Which woiuld give me a guilty conscious lol.
Thanks again!
Havent sent any yet. The first time I did it, years ago, I wrote the payment and DAS and told them these numbers were derived from recent contracts from Saab owners.
The solution to that one is simple… don’t message the next dealer until you conclude business with the first.
Highly unlikely for that to be the case on LH. And the winner is obviously the first one to accept so easy answer.
How long do I give them to accept?
I guess I am not your stereotypical LH member
I just saw this incentive on a dealership website:
For Well-Qualified Buyers When Financed w/ Cadillac Financial
-$1,000
Is this just different wording for an existing incentive? I haven’t seen this on the calculator or any incentive information websites.
No worries!
By picking out a a stock number (landing on a car) and sending in an offer (get an offer) and telling them you will take it asap (commitment) and promising a good survey/google review (protecting CSI) you are doing 99% of a sales persons job for them.
Don’t feel bad about taking one deal over another, it is not personal just business.
Hello Hackers,
Working on a Lyriq and would love to find a loaner but most sites I see do not advertise them as such.
So Ill search for most miles and time on lot, which helps. But, I’ve seen vehicles with about 100 or 200 miles and wonder if they have been used as loaners.
Is there any other way to tell. Could a vehicle with 200 miles on it be a loaner? Is there a minimum number of miles I should ignore the loaner possibility?
Just trying to cut down on my research time any way I can. Thanks!
My credit score is 837. Does that qualify for a better MF than the one on the calculator for leasing a Lyriq?
Not Likely. I am not finding what rate you are referencing but when you ask Edmunds or have access as a super support It is probably already using the top tier credit which is I believe over 750 to get you the MF
No, what you see is the best youll get.
OK, this can’t be right but I don’t know what I’m doing wrong.
CALCULATOR | LEASEHACKR?
This is a loaner but. $184/ month? What am I not putting in this equation?

Fixed it for you based on what I was able to decipher from your broken link.
This is NJ with no tax and a loaner I’m assuming?
Is this an offer you received or is this your target deal?
