Leases that permit driving for Uber/Lyft or renting on Turo?

I’ve only read the fine print on a couple different leases so maybe it’s just coincidence, but the ones I saw didn’t permit the vehicle to be used for anything commercial or for driving for a ride-share service (e.g. Uber and Lyft) or sub-leasing or renting it back out (e.g. Turo and Getaround).

Does anyone know of any companies that do permit this? Asking because I don’t really drive much but do want a car, so I’m thinking of ways to make some money back on my lack of utilization. I’m actually not even interested in driving for Uber / Lyft, but renting on something like Turo seems like a pretty good option if I can find a lessor that permits it.

It’s been discussed at length recently. I think BMW still allow it but maybe they’ve updated their contracts

Ah thanks. For some reason the results I got were all Uber / Lyft related, must have used the wrong keywords

Yeah there’s been a lot of talk about the issues around it and some of the horror stories. If you have a lot of spare mileage on a lease and you’re willing to take the risk it’s a good way of lowering the effective cost of the lease.

@Desert_Snow Check out Fair. It’s an app that lets you lease month-to-month. You’re essentially leasing a used car and can turn it in anytime.
