Eh maybe TMI in V1 of this post, the deal is all done other than the shipping.
Tell her you don’t mind cancelling the broker deal and working with the local dealer but you’d like her to cover the cost difference. Take her to the bank and ask her to pull out the $5,457 difference in cash and give it to you.
Just deal with the drama for a few days, get the car delivered ASAP, and let the deal and authenticity of the broker speak for itself.
Just let her complain for a few days.
(May sound harsh but this is the best advice from someone who deals with this more than every once in a while, it’s just true, she’ll be fine once the car is in your driveway)
I’m not sure this is something that internet strangers can get you out of…
Either let it whine out or just make your feed private.
Now if she goes thru your phone later to find out, she got problems bro
But put that car in the driveway asap
Or this
Grow a pair for once in your life
In the wise words of dua lipa: “idgaf”
Most brokers on here have a “Review” thread….maybe you could have her read through the reviews.
In the meantime either find a friend to drive you the 4 hours there in exchange for a nice Christmas present. ( Obv this would be in one of your vehicles ) or pay the $375. The sooner it’s in your driveway is the sooner she’ll shut up about it.
Well you’re the ones that got me into it
Forgiveness > Permission. Just show her an EXC spreadsheet with the total savings over 2-3 years compared to a “local dealer” offer. That brokers fee is a easy decision and a reasonable cost of admission for great deals.
Thankfully my wife is very familiar with all my vehicle shenanigans never questions my business decisions.
Your mom never complained
Close the deal ASAP and get the car to your front door.
Haven’t you learned the art of ignoring your Brazilian wife yet?
Hand her the offer and let her put a deal together however she wants.
I learned this a long time ago… Make sure your wife is always driving a nicer car.
Knew it wouldn’t take long for someone to say this
Please stay respectful, civil, and constructive.
If you don’t have constructive advice on how to persuade his wife on a out-of-town broker deal, there is no need to comment.
@Brons2 I am not sure which broker you are working with. Established brokers on Leasehackr have a strong review thread. You can try showing your wife the broker’s review thread to see if it could boost her confidence.
If you are already in touch with the franchised dealer, it means it’s a licensed dealer with a physical location. I can’t speak for other countries, but in the US dealer franchise is heavily regulated. The transaction is generally not complete until you take delivery of the vehicle in most states. If you opt for shipping, you can still refuse delivery in certain states.
If you can find someone your wife trusts (e.g. her friends) to affirm your decision, that might help too!
Tip: If you opt to take delivery in person, ask the dealer if you can get the paperwork signed ahead of time so you don’t have to wait around to do the paperwork after driving for 4 hours.
Tell her this is the best way to do it and if she is going to pay out of her pocket, she is free to walk in to local dealer and do everything herself.
And if that doesn’t work?
