Agree. Makes no sense that someone has his car towed while he’s driving it. Expired temp reg has never been a primary offense, let alone during last fall smack in the middle of covid.
Ask you’re dealer about extensions. They are doing extension on temp tags. My dealer extended the tags for up to 4 months. Do not risk getting towed because of expired tags. CT is usually 60 days on Temps but since Covid they are offering 120 days

Maybe the extensions is new? We got a truck from open road Chevy like 5 years ago and the sales department there couldn’t get a NY registration done for months.
Like, we got the max extensions (it was either 2 or 3) and then finally had to put the truck in the driveway and take a dealer loaner on a dealer plate on vacation.
Car was bought in April. Actual tags were not sent until July. Was a dealer issue not dmv. That was fun…
