Leased a 2017 Volt with Replace Your Ride Program ($139/Month)

I help my friend lease a 2017 Volt through the Replace Your Ride Program. Bc of the program, there is only a selected dealership we can choose from to lease a car. It took us a while to find a good deal, esp. with the program. But Keyes Chevy was surprisingly great at working with us. We found the (Rick Alpern) GM of the dealership and simply asked him to match the deal that was posted at Rydell Chevrolet, which was $189+tax/month $3420 due at signing &MSRP $34095. We were really surprised that he actually returned our calls and not only did he matched the dealer. He offered us a service loaner to lease with a lower payment/down as an option and 2 Adam’s detailing buckets as part of the deal. & the salesperson Benjamin Madill was super knowledgeable about the car and patient with us as we wanted to make sure we got a good deal and needed some time to look over the numbers. He even breakdown the numbers with me, as I wanted to make sure we are still getting a good deal using the replace your ride program.

This is what we got:

2017 Volt with Comfort package (3063 miles - 30 days dealer warranty & 3 years manufacture warranty)
36 mon/10K

MSRP $32,027.05 (the original quote for the car was $34,555)
Dealer Discount & rebate: $5,139.00 (No $500 lease conquest bc we didn’t have an existing lease)
Replace Your Ride: $7,500 (this is the amount that is given to her and she have to put it as a down)
Vehicle Price $24,371.90
RV $17,545
MF 0.00067

Monthly payment: $129+Tax = $139

I think it is a great deal in comparison to the number that was given to us originally from other places. Please let me know if I am correct.

And then we will still try to apply for the CVRP $1500 and SCE $450 rebate. But I have heard that it is for low income as of now.

What was your down payment and drive offs?

PS: Nevermind - i just looked up the program. This is for low income only…

where are the low income criteria exactly?

Wait? So they give 7500 to switch?

The replace your ride program gives you up to $9500 depending on where you live and your income.

They go by federal poverty income level. I am not 100% sure what is that level now. But we are happy with $139 as the total monthly payment. And we figured it wouldn’t hurt to try to apply for the Clean Air & SCE rebate.

For anyone else interested, the Replace Your Ride program is only for people living in the South Coast Management District (out in Cali), and does have income limitations for eligibility.

What car did your friend turn in? You have to turn in a car, right?

The program takes the car and give u the credit to shop at selected dealerships. She had a 2004 Toyota solora.

Hi there! Couple questions…

  1. How many months i the lease?

  2. Was the $7500 (from Replace Your Ride) the entire down payment?

  3. Did they take the other $7500 (amount of the Federal Tax Credit) off the top of the price of the car?

It was a 36 month lease.
The replace your ride was applied.
I can’t remember about the $7500 federal rebate. There was a possible they don’t pass it down on a lease.
The only think i forget to mention was that they did applied the Costco discount on top of that. And she also got a Costco gift card for the deal on top of it. And the dealer gave us each a set of car washing kit that costed $100 retail.
