Lease v Buy Lexus RZ

,

Question from you “pros” from FL (or Southeast region)

Interested in getting into a 2023 RZ. Lexus is offering $15k to off as a lease or $7.5k to buy outright. MSRP: $63.8k. Have no idea what would be best. Can you help??? I’d like to test the car and determine if it’s a good fit for my needs. 12k/yr, max for no more than 36 mos.

You should do that first before wasting time crunching numbers

Only one way to find out. Run the numbers. Below is a Lese v. Purchase analysis that I recently wrote for some else.

Thank you to both of you. Seems that the numbers were more favorable by purchasing the car outright as the acquisition and disposition fees were high, the money factor wasn’t terrific, and even with the incentive, it didn’t make sense.

@delta737h, thanks for your pdf. It was VERY helpful in making my decision super quick.

@max_g, you were absolutely correct. Driving was key as I purchased a different model engine/trim level as the ride was totally different.

You both are pros and appreciate you for taking the time to help me.

Have you calculate the number using the lease then buyout asap? You will lock in another $7.5k and probably only out for some interest charge on the first month lease. A high MF & disposition fee will not be a factor.

Then you either lease or lease and buyout your lease.

Purchasing outright is a non-starter with that much difference in incentives.
