I have a lease ending, so I have started looking for a new one. However, due to COVID I don’t drive much and we still have my wife’s car, so I don’t NEED a new one right away.
It got me thinking, when is the best time of year to get a new lease?
Should I push and try to get a deal now because year end leases are always best, or will I find the same or better deals in the next few months.
I was asking in general. But I was looking at an SUV, and the Volvo deals (especially with Costco) got me thinking that I should jump on something before the end of the year.
so lets say there’s a 1000 incentive that you wouldn’t get in march and an even bigger discount for this being a great time to buy yielding you a $50 improvement monthly- over 36 months that yields a total savings of 1800 bucks.
a volvo SUV sitting in your driveway for 3 months unused is going to cost you approx 1500 and more (based on @aronchi spreadsheet). Your net savings are going to be less than 10 bucks a month
You missed it! December 27th is the best day every year to lease a new car. Guess you have to wait another year.
But in all seriousness, there isn’t a single best time. I have noticed trends that June, July, and December have stronger lease programs in general, but specific models vary since new model years can be staggered along with redesigns.
Don’t get me wrong, I don’t need a vehicle either, but with some of the programs (Camaro LT1, Costco on Chevy trucks- Im considering a new one too). It might turn out that the deal I get now is horrible in relation to what happens in 3 months or could be a unicorn.
Hi all, I am new to Leasehackr…just found out about this website and am loving it. I have two more lease payments and was wondering myself if I should try to see if there were any good deals at year end or just wait. The responses to MD2020’s question was funny though.
I could probably get a great deal on a 2020 model but I am eyeing the 2021 Hyundai Santa Fe and I live in the NY area. So…I don’t know what to do.
