I’m hoping someone on here can help me understand a question in regards to lease incentives and rebates. I’ve been doing lots of research and teaching myself the ways of the leasing world. But the one thing I still don’t understand is how the rebates work in different states. So I’m looking to lease an Audi Q5 hybrid, and from what I can tell everywhere has this $7500 Rebate. I live in Massachusetts, but I’m not finding the color/trim I want in my state, so I’m reaching out to other states. And I’m getting some confusing feedback about the different states and how they handle it. Can I not lease out of state and still get the same rebate? Are there specific states that I’m limited to?
The $7500 Audi EV bonus cash is a manufacturer incentive and is available nationwide (AFAIK).
So you should be able to lease from any state you want and get the same incentive. What confusing feedback have you received?
Keep in mind that while most dealers will do out of state deals, some will not, but that’s an entirely separate issue completely unrelated to the EV incentive.
Thanks for the feedback. I messaged a dealer in CA - knowing full well that would probably be too far to make anything happen, but messaged anyways. He mentioned that some states like Calif and Colorado have state specific lease incentives, Money factors and residuals for residence of that state only. Which then just led to some confusion on my part.
Incentives sometimes can vary from region to region, but the RV and MF’s are typically nationwide. If you become a super supporter here you can use RateFindr to check the incentives and other terms for any applicable zip codes for dealers you’re considering.
Since you’re in MA, I’d reach out to @Bostoncarconcierge to see if he can help. Registering a lease from out-of-state in MA has its quirks and you’ll also need someone experienced with it to help (i.e. no temp tags in MA?). Also, maybe he can work with you on a deal and/or dealer trade
Worth a convo.
Happy to help and curious what the spec is. CA shipping bill to MA will not be pretty. And, I’m sure the reg process would be a nightmare. You prob wouldn’t be able to drive the car for 2-3 weeks post signing.
Shoot me an email if you like and I can look into this tomorrow once the month finishes out
Thank you for the tag @Kctham18
Also, with audi, MF varies based on region where buyer is located.
Because CA and CO have state EV incentives, but you would not qualify anyway since you have to be a resident of that state to do so.
@Rmac823 can vouch for @Bostoncarconcierge big time. We’re signing a Q5 55e today with his help! I wouldn’t waste my time going any other route!
Thanks! Sent an email.
