Lease in Maine or AZ

We’ve been looking at a Traverse 2018. Just found out my husbands job is moving us to Tucson AZ. We have to leave our 2013 Subaru Outback Limited with 60k behind and my husbands 2013 Toyota Tacoma at 60k with a bunch of aftermarket stuff behind. We have equity in both. Wondering what to do!! Do we trade-in or private sell here and have a car ready for us in AZ? If I buy or lease a car here will they ship it? Considering driving cross country too but I’m eight months pregnant with toddlers. May be tough. Anyone know where it’s cheaper to lease? maine or AZ? Maybe @chevysalesgirl ? What would all of you do in this situation? Need a three row for all the car seats. Trying to avoid the minivan. But is it my destiny? We want to get the lowest payments we can on what we need. One road trip family car three row and one commuter truck or car for husband. Thank you!!!

Definitely try to sell privately. Both cars have cult followings and should be desirable in New England. Put up the ads sooner rather than later, as most private buyers need time to line up financing and such.

Anything can be done, for a price. Who’s gonna pay for it? And what’s the point? You’ll have to worry about it being damaged in transit. You’ll have to stand in line at AZ DMV with your ME titled car, find someone who understands leases from out-of-state and pay reg/title again. Possibly tax too. Not sure how any of those headaches are worth it vs leasing two brand new cars in AZ or out of SoCal.

Definitely not worth shipping or driving a new car across the country. But what about shipping one of your current cars? Will be way cheaper than buying a second new car. If you need a second car ASAP once you get there, you can always get a cheap rental for a week until your vehicle arrives. As it is, you will be at a disadvantage in leasing/buying since you will need the Traverse as soon as you arrive and it doesn’t sound like you have a week or twoto shop different dealers.

Sell now and lease a car in socal and drive it back.

That’s not a bad idea. Your hubby’s Taco is hardly depreciating…maintenance is the only expense. Beats $2400/year plus higher insurance premiums on a basic commuter car. Will the company pay to ship one car as part of relocation expenses?

You need to sell the Subaru either way, so do it now in ME where the demand is greater than in AZ.

Agree with all of this. You are going to hate registration costs in Arizona. I should add Tacoma is popular in AZ, you will have no trouble selling it in Tucson.

We got great offer from Toyota and Subaru today at KBB. May get a traverse here and ship it when we’re ready to go. Or drive it cross country, depending on what we decide.

What about leasing online? I really don’t want to car shop when we get there. I’d like to have something ready to go.

Are ANY 3 row SUVs are leasing well at this moment?
